I don't usually shoot at 100 meters but at 100 yards my best group was 5/8" with a 30-06 A303 iron sights.

I'm stayin' right outa this one. Every time I try to shoot standing off-hand I wobble all over the place like I have about a carton of beer of half a bottle of rum "on board"...I put the old "wobbly boots" on. Laughing In fact, I am doin' well to hit a bull in the butt wiv a bucket of wheat at about 5 paces...and, on a bad day, I couldn't hit the ground wiv me hat in three throws. Embarassed

Now if I get the chance to use a rest, or go prone, that's a different story. Best group lying unsupported with my rifle (F88 Austeyr in 5.56mm) when in the Army was 29mm (1.142") at 100m. With my Weatherby .243 Win it is 17.78mm (.7"). The both groups are five shot and the Weatherby group is using my "Minute of Deer" hunting ammo.

Cheers, Vince

I don't usually shoot groups of hand, I worry more about one shot one hole. It's a lot less depressing.

If I am the champ, and I doubt that I could be the best shot here, what do I get? Money someone to help my wife with the house work or her gardening? Smile

I'll agree...

My best is one hole...

'cause I didn't need a second shot...

Years ago I shot four positions with a 22 target rifle but now at 74 years old I carry a rifle rest and use it for any rifle shooting I do. I got more shaking in me than steady. But one time why back when I did hit ten bulls eyes at 50 feet standing with a 22 target rifle. But that was luck helping me.

You mean shooting standing? Col. Cooper said off-hand and standing are similar but different, and I forgot the difference's. I can't group standing, not that stable.

I do it for fun and am happy when I achieve minute-of-gong @ 200y and out.

100y? Too close, where's the challenge in that? Nuts
