Hello everybody from another new guy!
I look forward to chitchating with y'all and think (compared to other sites) i can learn a thing or two. Just looking through i see there is a good sense of comradery here, which is a very good thing in my eyes.
A few forums i 'UESD' to belong to, would get way out of hand with a bunch of biased idiots that Moderators did nothing about! And no matter how 'wrong' the content, or derogatory, only a few defended a good word or company that knew what they were talking about, but it would just go on and on.
A little about me.....Ok, i am a joker because i figure life is too short sometimes to not just sit back and laugh, but i am as well a person that doesn't beat around the bush, and i hold my word to a very high degree. I do not litter forums with BS, but only facts of real life expierences and knowledge that i have gained. I am not pretentious or thwarting in any of my info to say the least, and am quite thankful i don't see that here. I have been around and working on firearms for about 25 years, and do all my own gunsmithing as well as have a few armorers degrees.
Most of my hunting consists of pistol and revolver use, with the main calibers of choice for me are, 10MM, 357Mag, 44Mag, 460S&W, 480Ruger, and 500S&W upon which only the 460S&W hasn't taken game for me....YET! I do hunt with rifles, however, rarely now because of back surgery. And unless i have a seat with a bench in the woods, i use a pistol or revolver, because the balance from rifle to pistol shooting is way different, and makes it uncomfortable for me.
With that said, i hope i didn't scare you, but again do look forward to chitchating and sharing knowledge and knowhow.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!
My handle is from an old detective friend of mine that had meat up with me at a shooting range. In a joking way he said....How in the He11 can a 'mentally disturbed person' be 'shooting' in the '10 ring'?
5150=mentally disturbed person
34s=shooting
and the 10ring part i don't think he noticed the powder burns on the target. Just kiddin
But i still don't think he was too far off. (LOL)
I live in northeastern Macomb co. with my beautiful (crack shot) wife and (as potentially dangerous) two daughters.

10ring,
Welcome to the forum! This is the first forum I have registered with after lurking around other boards. Can't agree with you more on those rude people the moderators would never cut off! Many nice folks here, though. Looking forward to hearing about your exploits with all of those huge hoglegs!
Tim

10ring.............You hunt the U.P ? Everytime I drive through the U.P in late Oct, early Nov. I have yet to miss a ice/snow storm. makes for great driving at night with that constant 40 to 50mph wind !

I used to hunt in Calumet, but now stay lower in the thumb and Sterling areas. And you are soo right about getting slammed with bad weather because that will happen every year! Although, and in retrospect, it hasn't changed since from what i remember back in the 70's .
The funny thing is, when i see people that drive bad, they never know what they are in for because of course, they are not from around there, and they all have ended up on the side of the road.

Welcome! Lived in GR for 48 years Hunted the U.P. the last ten before I got sick of the winters and moved to Tennessee. Now I am not sure if I like the humidity down here.
I am also a newbie here and so far I like it better than some of the others.

515034s10ring,
Welcome to Hunting Nut. Nice to have another pistoleer around. Although I shoot the other end of the caliber spectrum. I never met a 17 that I didn't like. Pull up that virtual chair and chew the fat.
Gary
