T/C Dimension?

Has anybody heard about/have experience with the T/C Dimension? It looks like an ok idea if you are big game hunting but I can't imagine those skinny little barrels would be good for varmint hunting.

I do like the idea of an interchangeable barrel system on a bolt rifle but it seems like there are some seriously limited options. Anybody know when it was introduced?

Wow thats an interesting design, I hadnt seen that before.

I fully agree with skinny barrels and varmint hunting, heaver = better. Of course one could think of this the other way, buy a rack of skinny barrels and rotate through them as they get hot Cool

I like. One bolt is good for 22-250 and 308 barrels as well as a few other in between calibers. Up here we don't have fast and furious varmint action so barrel heating is not an issue. Get a two gun case and pack the extra barrels and you have a sweet traveling set-up. I wonder how accurate they are with cold barrel shots.

As i recall mauser did something similar to this back in the sixties and early seventies,and they offered it in a three caliber set(it was expensive)but i believe that they all used the same bolt and the magazine was internal.This new one from thompson looks like a great idea-if their machine tolerances are tight!Otherwise it might just be a 100 yd gun set.

I'm with MacD on the skinny barrel. Unless you're firing a lot of rounds in a short time the skinny barrels can shoot just fine.

I think the Dimension is a good concept but, just my personal preferences, I think its kinda ugly.

I believe TC have a good name and have always produced a quality product. I can't imagine they would release the Dimension onto the market unless it was very well tested and proven in their R&D Department beforehand.

Thin barrel...good for hunting because you don't shoot a lot of rounds and it is lighter to carry...but for varmints you definitely need a heavier barrel for more consistent shot placement.

Still and all, a great concept, although as Punkin said, not the prettiest of rifles.

Yeah, even their products that don't sell well are usually pretty good quality wise. The barrel on their last bolt action offering was top shelf. The market is just about saturated by Winchester, Howa, Remington, Savage, Marlin, Mossberg etc. Everyone just about has their personal Favorite already. So A new introduction has to be nearly phenomenal to make it. Remember the Sig 970? If any one could do a switch barrel though T.C. should be able to after all their experience with the Encore\Contender.

Up here we can't have two rifles while hunting. I think you could probably get away with carrying two barrels of different calibres especially if the bolt remains the same. The price seems reasonable also.
