I got my votes in very easily, no crowd. I wonder if we'll know who won before the end of the week? I sure will be glad when this circus is over, even though I know another one will begin in Jan.

I was the 88th voter in the first 60 minutes of voting at my polling place.

Just a question.
Why is OHIO considered the state that makes or breaks it.
I think I understand the guts of your voting system but how can one state hold such awe for the politicians.

Because its split between the donkeys and elephants. Seriously its one of the swing states that can teeter totter either way. Here is a fact, only one republican lost the presidential election carrying ohio and that was Cleveland back in the l890's. No republican has won the presidency without carrying ohio.

Its not that they do hold that much power, I think its more that the Ohio is one state that has a fair amount of electorial votes can go either way.
Florida is another state with alot more electorial votes, and can swing either way making it as vitally important for the winner.
California has triple the electorial votes, but its pretty much solidly Democratic so republican's just dont worry about campaigning there.
PS: Voted this morning, took all of 10 minutes.

Yup and as far as I'm concerned electoral votes can go the way of the do-do bird. The (popular) peoples vote should be the only one counted.

Ummm Omni... Be careful what you wish for...

Keep the electoral college in place as the founding fathers intended to keep us a true Republic, representative of all parts of the nation.

IMHO bad weather are good for election in USA.
The fact that voting is voluntary, the bottom feeders would hide in their bedroom on bad weather,
Only the ones that really wish for changes would brave the elements and get out to vote.

Its done.
I have been amazed that this race was as close as it was in the votes. I have said all along that Romney wasn't supposed to win. When the economy takes its next downturn the republicans will look real good in 2016.
Oh, and when they don't fix it then in 2020 the Libertarians will be voted in but the debt will be so high that we will default on the national debt and we will have to rebuild the US of A. By then my revised edition of the constitution should be finished.
I feel sorry for my grand kids.
cest la vie!

Congress is still controlled by the Republicans, so its unlikely that Obama can do much on his own.
Mind you if you guys are really lucky he'll pull a Mulroney and then the Democract party will disappear.
