So I know most of you guys out there aren't likely to be looking for petty little reloading equipment like shell holders but I have been recently. I purchased a 40sw in january and have been doing my best to get all the stuff to reload for it. My local sporting goods store that carries shell holders has been out of the RCBS #27 for quite some time now which happens to be for 40sw and according to the catalog there is not real change over with another RCBS shellholder however I discovered today that an RCBS #6 works great for 40sw. Its the same one you would use for .357/.38 and they seem to be readily available. Thought you folks would like to know since it is not easy gettin some of the goods for reloading these days.

I buy set of shell holders from Lee, a box of 15 covers almost every caliber on earth.
So far I never yet meet any caliber that are not covered by the set.

Lots of on-line places are out of stock. I ordered some reloading stuff from grafs.com because at least they had what I needed. It took about 3 weeks to get it, but most places won't even back order stuff. Shipping was free too. I bought Lee stuff, don't know about RCBS but you might try grafs.

You should try getting reloading supplies here in Canada. Tougher than finding a needle in a haystack. Have to get items shipped across the country and even then it's difficult to find products in stock.

tlo7mm...Lee and RCBS shell holders for their presses are identical. Check on www.midwayusa.com under "Reloading Supplies".

If you have a hand press or handprimer they take a different shell holder.

Hey dmyles...welcome tho this fine site. grab a beer from Vince's cooler, pull up a stump (provided by Suz) next to the fire and tell us your story. Very Happy

Thanks for the beer...
I'm relatively green when it comes to hunting and reloading in general. For me, hunting has always been a family affair providing food for the table (mainly moose). I didn't hunt much in my younger years, but as my family members have been getting older, I am finding myself wanting to participate in the yearly hunts and processing of animals.

I reload mainly to create accurate ammunition for hunting and use PointBlank from this site to keep track of my loads.

I'm glad to find a site with friendly members and a ton of information for reloading.

I'll be sure to check out the other parts of the forums and lend any assistance where I can.

Danny

Welcome dmyles. Fellow Newf here. Ditto on getting supplies just now. Things should hopefully improve over the summer. I have enough powder etc. for pistols and 223 but want to do some more load development for 308 and start loading 35 Remington. I have been waiting for weeks for dies and bullets.

On topic with the original post I use the Lee shell holders and they haven't given me any problems to date.
