So, I was driving home about 12:30 AM Saturday when a woman walked out into the road ahead of me and flagged me down. I slid my pistol out of the holster, stopped and asked if she needed help. She said “He’s trying to kill me!” Major “Oh sh*t!” moment there. I told her I’d call 911 and she walked around to the passenger side of the car, putting the car between her and the house. My doors were all locked. While I was talking to the 911 operator I saw a man step out of the door of the house and the woman started jerking on the door handle saying “Please Jesus, don’t let me die!” I let the woman into the car, told the operator that I was moving away from the house and went down the road a hundred yards or so to get out of sight from the house. I did a U-turn to get my headlights pointed back toward the house. I kept talking to the operator and passing questions and answers back and forth. The woman was awfully scared and confused, maybe not quite right. She almost panicked when a deer crossed the road about 50 yards away. Actually I was encouraged because the deer obviously was not frightened. When a sheriff’s deputy showed up and started questioning the woman she started asking me if it was safe to go with him. After I answered some questions from the deputy and give him some contact information he told me I could leave. Another mile along and there are MORE people standing on the side of the road! I stopped again and asked if they needed help. A young man said “No, we’re just looking for a friend of ours.” I said OK and headed to the house! When I got home I turned on the outside flood lights, loaded the riot gun and told my wife that “the crazies are really out tonight!”

It's ZOMBIES Punkin...maybe even World War Z mate.

Seriously though, you did right in lighting up your place and preparing your riot gun for possible home protection mate. Be Safe.

School's out!! Now what? That's what I'm afraid of around here. There's more people out on the streets late nights and early mornings. Our office has been broken into twice in 2 weeks, once at around 4am the other time was around 5:30am (plenty of daylight too). They know how long it takes the cops to respond. So many people out of work, lookin for other things to do I guess. With warm weather and crazies around it makes it scary to open the windows and doors at night but good faith in your neighbors helps. Keep friendly with them and watch out for each other.

Good job Pumpkin!!!

Im currently doing nightshifts 2200 - 0700 and the crazies, drunks and idiots I have to deal with are all out to play at the moment - must be building to a full moon.
I don't mind playing with idiots and I'm bloody glad we're not as pro gun as Americans because at least the idiots don't have the ready access you guys do. It would change the whole playing field here.
Pumps - you did the right thing, at least having the balls to stop and assist, but at least having the foresight to be prepared for any eventuality

Good on you mate. Glad it worked out.

Good that things didn't go south on ya Pumpkin. One really doesn't need that sort of excitement.
