Thats what Australia should be on, bloody shutdown for the increases the pollies vote for themselves.
Heck the country does not earn anything, the govt is selling public assets and they increase their pay!.
For a small population in out country although our national debt is smaller than USA, but per head of population we are on the same number of about $52000 / capita!!
We should learn the lessons from USA. for letting idiots that rules with emotion rather than logic to control their lives.

All of congress, both republicans and democrats, should lose their jobs. They let this country get this bad and they should be executed for it. The government (and mean all parties) have turned their backs on our country. To these a$$holes its just a big pissing contest. I am sure that most of you guys will blame the democrats but the republicans are just as guilty for how bad things have gotten.

A debt ceiling has no meaning if you always raise it with no consequences or changes. O will negotiate with the Russians and Iran but not the Republicans. The entire situation is pathetic.

Someone, some day soon needs to deal with the outrageous debt load this country is carrying. It cannot continue, but no one wants to make the tough decisions to address it. All the best...

We need to return to the old days of "Survival of the fittest"...You can't earn enough to have a family? Too bad. You die of your own stupidity.
Or maybe a modified form of "Survival of the fittest". Like end most of the entitlements and obamicare.

I am confused, where is all the doom and gloom of the American economy and social system collapsing if this ever happened?
Oh right, reality set it, and the TEOTWAEKI guys are hiding somewhere crying with their chattered dreams.
Good work to all the mentally stable Americans who don't panic at the first sign of trouble!

Here's a great place for getting some things cleared up. The gov. shutdown rundown is here along with the fast and furious Erik Holder contempt charges and a few other things if you click on some of the other stories, you'll find lots of goodies to chomp over.

Careful Paulie they'll bend yer arm back and make you buy government sponsored car insurance..uumm....ya know at the discounted rate..uh before taxes..if you qualify...uumm..and your income is at or under 10x the poverty rate....oh and if you can't get around in an electric car, cause their insurance is free....well..uumm....from the government it is, but you can get private insurance, it's just that, ya know, who would do that when it's so much cheaper gettin a subsidy. It'll create jobs, be environmentally friendly, help the poor and unfortunate, help pay off the national debt, make you loose weight,uuummmmm... cure cancer, and all.....but your taxes might go up.....jest a tad....maybe....can't tell right now because the government likes to swing by the seat-of-your-pants......no, not their pants...YOUR pants. ummm...Haven't drawn up anything just now, but it's all been executive ordered through the presidency and that'll just make it easier on the public. Once that's finalized and we get you to pay out the initial monthly payments, then we'll figure out how to get it done....in a comprehensive sort of fundamental across the board kinda way....uuummm...uh..remember to hope and pray!.....uumm...no it's hope and lay?....no....ummm..hope and Frito-lay...hope for today?..can't remember....hope for something...pray for something....I'll leave it at that..
