For background, I have been wanting a portable generator as a back-up for storms, blackouts, etc. I plan on having a lot of meat at home with an elk hunt plus just got a hunting lease. The cost is rippling as I've added a freezer to handle the meat and now this ....

I clicked on the Cabelas' banner tonight as that is how our forum makes a bit revenue. I've been doing that a lot lately except I'm tired of the alu vs steel Chevy adds. Last week via a banner click I bought a BP Revolved on sale from Cabelas. Tonight, Cabelas is selling their most popular generator for $150 off - a 33% savings. So, I tagged one. when will it end Very Happy

Well, he is out of driving distance for me to go drink his beer and you guys on the bottom side of the planet will have a bit of a swim to get there. I think he is going to be spending all his money on the internet and run out of beer. (now THAT is a crime!)

Oh, another two Cabelas' banners just popped up!! WAM!!!! (wait a minute). I didn't know there was an ad banner at the very bottom! Look, its from Savage!! That is the first time I've seen one from Savage!

Having a generator for emergencies has saved me more than a few times... I had 3 at one point, sold a couple... now for whatever reason I have 3 again. o.O

We get so many power outages that I finally gave in and got one of these that can do the whole house and all I have to do is pay for it.

We are lucky here in Sydney, I only got 1 blackout in the last 5 years or so.
I got a small portable generator in the shed, still in the box from the day I bought it, only run it once to check that it works.

Back in Indonesia in my early teens tho, blackout is a daily occurrence, so much that dad build a generator with an old diesel truck engine as power source. All I remember is it was running idle all the time when it runs..

Dallan, the problem with the forum ads are the predominately Chevy Truck Ads. They are so dominating, they have backfired. I've decided I won't buy a Chevy Truck.
