Bushmaster,

That sucks you have to wait 6 months to be a "resident". Shocked

Tell me how big was the target they made you use at 18 feet ??

It's a B-27 target. The top half of a human (waist up). Six months is the norm for residency in most states that I've been in.

Well then that qualification doesnt seem too hard. Never shot a real handgun but with my pellet pistol I can hit at 21 feet (7 yards) I can hit pretty good I think (I use thouse 6" targets and rarely miss hitting it) using the irons on it. Smile

My son call it Al Quata's best intel service.
I can see my boat in the lift at the house. I guess were I on the dock and waving I would be in the shot too. At my office building, there in front of my office is my Surburban in the parking lot!

Swampfox...I seem to missed the change in your "whether you're all there" condition. Just what are you talkin' about? Your mind derail??

Bushmaster,

He is talking about Google Earth, no more does someone need a multi-million dollar satalite to have satelite pictures of areas. Laughing

Not only can you get photos of your house, street and mark routes, you can bring up maps of military instillations, photos, etc. I wonder at times what someone was thinking.

I was going to a cerimony at a military base, so I put in the street address, thinking I would get an indication of the best gate to go through, nope, got a map right to the building. Went to Google and there was a high res photo of the base, streets and buildings. Jez....

Swampfox,

The military Bases arnt updated as much as you migth think. If you go to CFB Cold Lake it still shows the F-22's and A-10's that were there last year for the airshow.. Smile

If you go to Den Helder in the Netherlands there Navy base is completly blocked off. Check it out by copying and pasting this:

52 57' 39.40" N 4 47' 20.84" E

I wonder what the Dutch are trying to hide. wtf

SwampFox,

I donno Holland hasnt invaded much in its history, perhaps it fears other countries invading (like Germany has done 2 times in the last 100 years). Shocked

A joke, buddy... Best thing Holland did in WWII was when the bridge guard shot Gen Student... that guard just might have saved the Lion from the Eagle.
Holland might be capable of invading a canabis garden in Amsterdam, if given enough time and NATO support. Very Happy
Ed

PS One of the more interesting people I have met over the years was Hans Peter. Col Peter was the German deputy commander of the Dutch Waffen SS Division on the Eastern front.

Swampfox,

I knew it was a joke, but I figured the Dutch have a more "serious" reason. Very Happy

Tell me though you happen to know General Students first name ?? Did a google search but came up with nothing so you got me interested.

Ok, not to steal the thread: General Kurt Student was commander of all German Airborne units when he was wounded. At the time of the invasion of Holland he jumped in with his troops. Wile leaning over a table, studying a map, under a bridge, one of the bridge guards, who had hidden in the weeds, shot him, just believing him to be an officer. General Student was struck in the head, badly wounded, it took many months for him to recover.

Student was to be the commander of operation Sea Lion (invasion of England) after the invasion of Holland was completed. He was a very capable general as evidenced by the invasion of the "low countries" where his planning and execution resulted in countries falling in days, not years.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Student

The above article and several others report he was wounded by friendly fire, in error. Student is a legend among airborne troops.
