Thought I'd comment, when I was 240 pounds, I was a size 40 in my waist, now size 38 pants are lose (just bought a pair) but don't fit in 36 yet, still don't know how much I weight now, no scale here to find out. Might post that in a little while when I get access to a scale.

Holy Defacation, mitri!!!
I lost 10lbs just from the guilt and anxiety of wondering if I have mis-spelt anything in my previous posts. Good thing for me is I havn't posted that much, but on your original subject, it's good to know backing away from the plate and not the keg will work.

The other thing that works is have acreage and keeping it in good repair and nice lookin'... Came to missouri at 160 and labored and sweated off 15 -20 lbs in a month...I still eat good and what I want. I still enjoy my beer and whiskey...Owning horses doesn't hurt either...

Yep, stay active, stay on the move...eat and drink whatever the h### you want!
I'm 6'3" and 200 pounds, used to always come in around 185 when I was drilling and mining, (so yeah, I do stretch it pretty thin ) but I think it works really well like this...if you're not hungry don't eat, when you're full...stop eating. I've never had any health concerns relating to diet or weight or general condition that I'm in.
When I worked in bush camps ,drilling, I'd work 12-14 hour shifts every day and mostly outdoor work. I never stopped for lunch but ate huge breakfasts and suppers. These days, I just eat when I get hungry, don't have a schedule for meal times

came here from Dallas and was heavy.
working now 12 - 14 hour days 5 days a week in a restaurtant Ive lost 18 pounds.
just like you Tracker I eat when I am hungry and dont when I'm not.
ive made everything so many times I dont have to taste anything much anymore.
the stairs at work are well wore from all the prep and stocking of the line for the rushes I do.
I agree with you Mr Bush about the acreage and keeping it nice. Just trying to get all the fences repaired works off loads of weight and makes you run for the canoe and lake.

Well I did weigh myself I'm 195 pounds now.
So thats like less then 7 months and 45 pounds and 2 pants sizes smaller I just tried a "new old pair" of jeans sized 36 at the waist that I bought just before I got bigger and needed size 38 pants so I never ended up wearing them before and they fit nicely and arn't tight at all.
Well I got to admit hearing teenage girls starving themselves to lose weight makes me upset, heard too much of it myself. If you need to starve yourself to lose weight you probably don't need to lose any!

I don't feel better like they say you do when you feel weight but I don't feel worse.
Guess its cause my diet hasn't changed like they say it should you know eat more "greens" and the like, I'm eating Sheperds pie, if you know of it, ground beef and mashed potatoe (should have a layer of creamed corn between thouse 2 though). Not that "healthy".
Mind you having to buy 50$ worth of pants every few months cause my waist has been dropping is alittle annoying, as I've barly broken into the pants by the time I need to buy new pants.

You're a lucky man Joe. Like you I smoked for more years than I can remember....gave up 3 times, the last time for good. Unfortunately I started to taste good food again.....12kilgrams (26.4 lbs) in 6 weeks I put on, and it has never come off again. I'm up to 104 kg (229 lbs) now which means I should be about 6' 4" tall, but I must have shrunk a bit cause I'm only 5' 6"....oops.

I'm proud of ya mate....you have done a great job, and even though you may not feel it, it is doing wonders for your health. Keep it up mate.
Nothing wrong with Shepherds Pie 'Mitri. I love it. So long as you drain all, or most, of the fat out of the ground beef before you add the potato and corn and only use a small amount of butter to mash the spuds then it is quite a healthy dish. You can also add some diced vegetables to the meat for some variation.
Most importantly...maintain a good exercise regime.
Cheers, Vince

Vince,
I don't strain the fat or add veggies, I cook up the meat alittle in a pan add spices, then I put it in the pot, put the cream corn ontop then add the mashed potatoes and bake alittle to crisp the mashed potato.

Joe, (Vince too!)
Good job givin' up the smokes. I quit 4.5 years ago, after 20+ years. Turns out that food has TASTE, and I REALLY like it. I'm up about 30 pounds, but I was always told I was too scrawny for my height.
Bottom Line is, I can breathe again, I'll begin my workouts again soon. Gonnna back to my US Govt. Issued Optimal Fighting Weight soon!
