You guys have read from me about my oldest Son Ben, and how we hunt together.
On the Waterfowl Hunting section I just saw that he posted some pictures of some of the geese shot this year. His handle is waterfowladdict.
Some of you younger Dad's can take a lesson from this, to take time and take your kids out hunting and shooting.
Just like training a young pup, you never quite know what you will end up with, but sometimes you may come up with a good partner.

I'm just bragging a little, so over look this proud old fart.

I kinda wish I had a dad that was closer to me sometimes, but mostly I'm glad my dad isn't really active in my life. I am very close to my grandfather on my mothers side though. He has taught me the majority of information that I know about guns, shooting, and hunting. I hope one day to have at least one son that I can be the fater to that my dad never was.

I have to agree very strongly with Joe and Vint2, you are a lucky man.

None of my daughters has shown any real interest in going hunting with me...in fact quite the opposite. I'm not allowed to take any of my grandsons or granddaughter hunting...three of them because their Mother doesn't like hunting and the other three because of age and "other" problems, so Eric...I envy you mate.

Cheers, Vince

Thanks guys.
I'm lucky in another way too.
My wife was never around guns and hunting before she met me, but she is the driving force in making sure that all of our three kids get a chance to hunt, shoot and fish with me.
She is pretty much a Saint during hunting season, which lasts from Sept. through the end of December.
She never complains about all of our hunting and hunting trips. Once in a while,{like now Crying or Very sad } she will tell us to limit the travel and lodging because of money, but we always have good hunting around home and good times.

Eric

elyboy, A big DITTO bout bein' proud . Yoy have that right,as a foather, a friend, and a mentor to your children. My son was raised around firearms but wouln't take intrest in them. So I got my daughter into it instead. Works out nicely. So I envy you and the boys. Just keep up the good work.Maybe they too will pass on down the tradition. Dave Very Happy

Yesterday i shoot 8 big ducks with 7 shots with my Franchi Semiauto 12 gauge and didnt waste one shot that evening, man was my dad ever proud of me, and it sure felt good! Very Happy , i feel confident now in my new gun and my abilities, some of the ducks i shoot were further away then i am used to but they still dropped! Laughing , my dad was on another lake and they didnt shoot anything so it was a good thing that i filled our bag limit!

Daniel, take ur kids hunting!

Remind your daughters that as a hunter and fisherman you are a conservationist...You might explain where the money you pay for licences and tags goes...

You might also explain that sportsmen contribute billions, yes, billions, to our economy . Money is spent not just for guns, ammo, tackle, and licenses, but for clothing, food, transportation, lodging, and all kinds of related items!!!!

And that's Billions with a "B". I believe that in 2004 (my last check) we put $8,000,000,000 into the economy...
