Up in the cascades we are having some trobles with ticks these days. Must be that "Global Warming" thing. Even the deer are getting sick. Funny thing is, I haven't been bothered by skeeters in the last couple of years. They usually hunt me down and try to carry me off - maybe it was the drugs.....

Yup... I remember those skeeters...Come in two sizes...The ones that can fly through the screen and those that just take down the screen and fly though the door...Had a regular infestation one time up in the Sunday Creek Basin where Sunday Creek comes into the Snoqualmie...I and my fishing partner were camped just above the bridge on Sunday Creek.

Hm, 4 thou ".....not a lot, but then again it is similar to what you have on ordinary jacketed bullets. Only problem I can see is the "jacket" on the plated bullets is probably pure copper which is very soft, whereas the jacked bullets have a copper alloy for strength.

Maybe the plated bullets would be okay at low velocities with light loads, but it is probably just easier to use normal jacketed bullets in the rifle.

Bloody mossies....hate the little buggers Mad ...although they "love me. Mad

We have a few different kinds over here in Oz. The worst are the aedius egyptii Evil or Very Mad that carry Dengue Fever and Ross River Fever, then there are those we call Scotch Greys...look a bit like a B52 with a storm water pipe hinging off the front Shocked , the other one that gives me grief is a little black one with white stripes on their legs...sting like blazes when they bite and itch like buggery later. Mad

When you swat one over here, the "recovery team" comes out, drags him off and fixes him up to bite again. wtf If they have any parts left over they build another one outa them....well I reckon that what they do cause you never seem to get rid of them all.

Cheers, Vince

Vince, Rainier doesn't have any rifle bullets but you can find some .30-30 bullets here >> www.berrysmfg.com/cate...s/86-0.php

And Rainier states that you can drive their handgun plated bullets up to 1200 fps...

Berry states that you can drive their plated .30-30 bullets to 1700 fps. Would that do Vince...?

1700 fps is nice mate....but 2200 fps is better. I reckon I might just have to have a look at these plated bullets, if we can get them out here in Oz that is.
