Bushy,

Is she the "Connie" that use to work in the Texas Hill Country at the girls camp called Waldemar? That Connie, is a legend too.

I'm 51, and I refer to myself as "old", but more for self-deprecation and to keep me mindful.

Okay, here's an updated on the culture war. Just received an "Alert" from the American Family Association about its boycott of McDonalds. Well, Ronald and his little red nose are rolling over the grave. The following is copy & paste of part of the text of the alert:

"In response to the boycott, McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman suggested to the Washington Post that those who oppose SSM are motivated by hate, saying "...hatred has no place in our culture." McDonald's has decided to adopt the "hate" theme used by gay activist groups for years.".

I've been watching AFA's work with large corporations in the past 4 years. This quotation is a watershed and LANDMARK change in the attitude of any corporation I've watched thru them. If this doesn't cause everyone to stop and ask themselves, "What is going on?", there's really something wrong. A huge American corporation attributing it millions of its customers the word "hatred" if they don't walk in lockstep with McDonald's beliefs?

If this doesn't make you go to AFA's website and sign its boycott petition, probably nothing will. The petition can be found at the following link:

www.boycottmcdonalds.com/

I cannot personally imagine a Fortune 500 corporation allowing one of its representatives to make that statement and have a job come tomorrow morning.

So, let's help AFA help us, our kids, our grandkids and ourselves, to save this nation from the Fifth Column that wants to teach our kids and grandkids, lots of new sex games where they are the objects of those games.

Thanks Folks. How about 10 million signatores to McDonald's petition. And, Bill Whitman and Jim Skinner must resign or be fired before I will ever eat at a McDonalds again.

Thank,

Clique,

I never meant any negativity in my previous posts. I applaud your efforts, and am willing to participate, but am skeptical of the #'s that will....

I DID sign the McDonalds petition, just know that I don't necessarily support the AFA on ALL their issues (we had a "quiz" here not long ago that showed that most of the members that participated were NOT extreme "right")...

That Quiz told me I was 85% Conservative/right wing. I doubt it was a real fair quiz. Just took hot US political topics for the election and gave a result.

Need to have one that's more "in depth" one of these days.

and based on your preference for a liberal, gov't controlled health care system, it's prolly not too far off......

We have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness - does that include federal health care? I think that is a State's right issue - not federal.

Thanks HunterJoe,

I'm a worker ant/bee. I'm going to be productive. I think it seems unrealistic. Intuitively, I think it: 1) has to happen and 2) is one of the only things that can be done to wrest control of the govt away from what really is, an international organized criminal syndicate. In other words, to help defend this nation from the goal of legitimizing buggery marriage - the preferred form of marriage in the post-modern world.

I think its education. AFA's boycott of Ford worked! Ford agreed to AFA's demands. The boycott hurt Ford, cost them money. AFA has a boycott of General Motors right now, and GM is in a precarious position. Its cash poor, its sales are weak and declining. Sign that petition too. And, I bought a new Chevy about 9 months ago. Not buying anymore.

BTW, AFA's Ford boycott only had 800K or so signers of its petition. 10 million is a great number, I'm for the minimum it takes to accomplish the goal. But the greater the number the more assured the outcome will be. These executives with McDonalds simply have to go (that's not what the AFA is demanding - and the AFA is wrong about that. Can't leave the buggerist foxes in charge of the hen house without getting some funny eggs - they have to go).

Sign the GM boycott at AFA's website also, and then, don't eat at McDonalds and don't buy GM products.

Bushy,

"Baby-Old Guy". I like that! HaHaHa.

Sorry to hear about your horse accident.

Well, now that you've got a couple of days to sit around with less to do, you might have the time to sign those two petitions at the AFA's website? The Lord works in mysterious ways!

HaHaHa! With all due respect to my elder.

I hope you get well soon.

Connie was pretty well known in the Kerrville Hill Country area. I think she died sometime back? They worshipped her at Waldemar. Everybody knew her. She worked there forever it seems. Women my age remember her from their time there; I think.

Sadly in today's world a health care system is a "liberal" idea.

You need a healthy productive work force to keep business running and the economy growing. And a health care system is one way to do this.

Dimitri,

One good thing the USA Congress could do for the well-being of the American people is to require a system where individual medical policies cannot be cancelled by insurance companies for other than non-payment of premiums. And, to prevent increases in premiums for any reason other than a group increase. Prevent health insurance companies from cancelling an individual's policy or increasing his premium simply because they get sick.

That's not all they can to do, but it would be a very good start.

It may very well be a "liberal" idea, but it is a socialist system that we don't need in this country. The say that we have 45 million people without health care in this country. 12 to 13 million don't even belong here. The rest are too rich to care and the rest won't get off their rears and go out and get thefree medical that I have to pay for out of my taxes. We even pay for the health care of the illegals (the 12 to 13 million). This country has the best health care any where in the world. And it's available to everyone...Socialized medical care would ruin all the work and sacrifice that I did to get my medical care. And what I would get in return would be inferior to what I get now, which is the best in the world...

CLIQUE777...Madam...What does the American Family Association have against Ford and GM? I can understand Mickey D's...But...

And please...Don't waste sympathy on me for "unauthorized dismounts" from horses. It comes with the territory. If you own and ride horses you will make them mad and they will toss you. In this case I took her away from her kid and she was unhappy about it...Besides...It's not the first time...You would think I would learn and get rid of these horses...They ARE inherently dangerous...

Bushmaster,

AFA's boycotts against Ford and GM were for the identical reason(s) as the one against McDonalds. Pushing the homosexual agenda corporately. Same identical reason. AFA wants all three to stop it. AFA says they want them to remain "neutral" in the culture war, and to quit giving money to homosexual causes. AFA's boycott of Ford, with about 800,000 signatores to the petition, was written about, I think, in the Wall Street Journal or Washington Post, and two weeks later Ford complied with the terms of AFA's demands (AFA's Ford boycott was longer than 3 years). AFA called off its boycott of Ford. This year it started its boycotts of both McDonalds and General Motors for the same reason, supporting and giving money to homosexual causes.

For me, the CEO and the President of McDonalds have to go. Its not sufficient for them to simply comply with AFA's requirements.

And corporation I really want to see hit with a boycott is Comcast, the cable provider.

Horses. I used to love riding them. Then, my aunt's husband who grew up riding and breaking horses since his childhood in Brush, Colorado, was critically injured by a horse in his late 50's, much for the same reasons you mentioned. His saddle was an old and very deep welld Army Cavalry type. A little like a McClellan but deeper and with a metal post about the size of a quarter to half dollar and about 2-3 inches high. Well, that 2 1/2 year old gelding threw him up on that post a couple of times. He just wasn't ready for what happened on a cold morning. He ended up in intensive care for a month. Rehab was terribly painful.

Plus, we sold our farm, unfortunately.

Me, I'm just extremely careful these days about everything. I don't need to visit a hospital for any reason, much less to be in a bed in one as a patient; at least from any preventable cause I can control.
