Anyone out there tried to use the point blank software with a muzzleloader?
I looked in the bullet.txt file that the software uses, and if I am correct, I didn't see any barnes bullets above .3xx cal; I did find pyrodex in the powder file;

mw0248, I have my muzzle loader PowerBelt loads in PointBlank. They are just estimates because I haven't chronographed the loads yet. You can just enter the information for the bullet and use the velocity information from the powder or bullet manufacturer. If you are shooting round ball you'll have to hunt for the ballistic coefficient, I found some in a Lyman muzzle loading manual. If you need a specific diameter's BC I'll look it up for you.

Don't know if I should be afraid to ask this question, but just wondering if 2.0 is getting close? Hope everyone is gearing up for hunting. I have been in bugling elk several times already, just none within a reasonable range.

BE AFRAID, VERY AFRAID!
LOL no just kidding. Its pretty darn close actually. 1 hard week of working on it should wrap it up. I need to double check the database converter is working still, then do a big bug hunt for any remaining issues. I believe I have all of the printing completed, the auto-updater works (how freaking cool is that??? I can release new updated versions and it will auto patch!). There is 1 minor UI change I'd like to make, but I can hold off until we get this new version kicked off.
I'm more comfortable releasing without everything perfect due to the patcher system.
Tuesday I should be able to work on it almost the entire day. Rest assured, a new version will come out very soon!

Dallan, once again thanks for your efforts. If version 2 is better than what we have now it will certainly be the best ballistics program I've ever seen.

Very great news. Let's all pray for a quiet week or two for Dallan!
And as always, if I can help by beta testing on Win2k, WinXP, Vista (::shudder::) or even Linux/Wine, you know where to find me!
(could do earlier Win OS's via vbox, but why bother?)

Patience, Grasshopper. As with C.U.P. versus psi, there is no simple mapping between "programmer time" and "real-world time." That said here are a couple of rules of thumb:
1) It always takes longer.
2) It will be ready... when it's ready.

Just doing heavy testing right now and bug fixing. It seems pretty solid. I need to write the new help files but for the most part its pretty much complete. Going to work in it for a few hours tomorrow if I get time.

PS: Probably going to open it up to a few beta testers soon so if interested in helping track down remaining problems let me know.
