Got out to the range this morning for some good old fashion therapy. The 45-70's were in fine for giving me the attitude adjustment I needed. The 535gr boolits atop 47gr 3031 really pack a punch.

But today was extra special as I took my little brother with, we haven't talked for about a year since a family squabble pretty much tore the family apart. My brother and son have been working together for the past 2 summers and had a very tight bond until this came up. It looks like a happy ending in the works.......for us 3 at least. He wouldn't play with the Buffalo Classic though, I guess I should have just handed it to him instead of letting him see me shoot it first. I'm 6'2" about 240 and it lets me know who's boss. I'm sure glad to have my brother back.

I know what you mean about therapy. It a real relaxing for me to get to the range. I can just feel the stress flowing out of me.

Hope things keep heading up with your brother!

Your 45-70 sounds like a good whallop! My son has been shooting his AR-15 a lot and wanted to shoot my old rolling block in 45-70. I load 405gr bullets and get 1450 fps. With the stock geometry and metal but plate, it only takes a few shots to start a bruise. After the first shot, he remarked he's glad he wasn't in the military back in the 1800 shooting rifles like that!

I just love my 45-70's I'm running 405's through my BFR and 535's through the Buffalo Classic. I think I'm a glutton for punishment.

That is great to hear Wiersay old mate. No better therapy than bustin' a few caps...even better if its at a critter.

I understand the problems with family mate....I have a young brother who is hell bent on tearing our family apart. Luckily we have identified his intentions and have now pretty much alienated him. His loss.

Cheers, Vince

Judging by my attitude today I need to go down to the boolit cave and roll some of the 535gr 45-70 attitude adjustment pills. Nothing like em to knock a crappy attitude back into place, not to mention shoulder and neck.

I hear ya Wiersay old mate.

I have had a bad attitude for the past couple of weeks...I need to get out into the bush, but can't at the moment because of family commitments... so I go to the gym. Had a real dose of the "tray bits" last Friday...hit the weights hard...ended up "squatting" 110 kg (242 lb) 4 sets of 8 reps...then I went on to do some rack pulls, started at 90 kg (198 lb) and kept adding till I got to 150 kg (330 lb). Could only do one rep at 150 kg so I dropped back to 140 kg (308 lb) and did 4 sets of 8 reps. Then I went and had a "play" with the 17.5 kg (38.5 lb) dumbbells...did a heap of dumbell press and "bent over" rowing...I was sore for days...but I got rid of the bad mood.

I have to visit my daughter next Sunday to help at the grandkids horse gymkhana, and one of the ladies there has a problem with feral dogs on her property...hopefully I will be spending a couple of days looking for dogs. There is a heap of red deer there as well, but they don't want them shot as they are becoming slowly "domesticated"...they can almost hand feed them.

Cheers, Vince

Trust me stoves there's plenty of drinking to but if I'm gonna have a headache it might as well be from buffy belting me.
