Scenario:

1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up mates.

2010 - Police called, arrests Johnny and Mark.. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it. Both children go to anger management programs for 3 months. School board hold meeting to implement bullying prevention programs

Scenario:
Robbie won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1957 - Robbie sent to office and given 6 of the best by the Headmaster . Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.

2010 - Robbie given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADHD Robbie's parents get fortnightly disability payments and School gets extra funding from state because Robbie has a disability.

Scenario :
Billy breaks a window in his neighbour's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.

1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.

2010 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison.

Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.

1957 - Mark gets glass of water from Headmaster to take aspirin with.

2010 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons.

Johnny takes apart leftover fireworks from Guy Fawkes night, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up an ant nest.

1957 - Ants die.

2010- Police & Anti-terrorism Squad called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, Police investigate parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated. Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Scenario :
Johnny falls while running during break and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary . Mary hugs him to comfort him.

1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.

2010 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

That would be funny if it wasn't so true...

The bitter truth, i am almost 21 years old now and sometimes i ask my dad why he didnt spank me more!!!!! I love my parents even more for disciplining me, they did it cause they love me. Thats why iam not a high school drop out, work at a good job, have my own 4500sqft department, drive a good car and thank God my life is going good, i credit most of it to my parents and God. I would kick someones ass really bad if they accused my parents of abusing me!!!

FWIW:

My Mum and Dad would have gone to jail for the type of disipline I receieved.

I turned out OK.

Its been a busy last few months at work so i couldnt spend as much time on the nut but now that hunting season is starting i felt the need to come back!!

I spent my share of time in the wood shed getting kindling busted over my butt. Earned every one of them.

Pop's put "the fear of God" into us early. Never got that many whuppin's. We'd go nuts in the back of the house and once we heard "that's it" from the front room you aint never seen a bedroom get spic-n-spanned so fast with two "angles" sitting on the ends of their beds, hands folded.


All he had to do was turn on the blinker and the whole back of the car got so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Now, it takes 3 DVD players to keep kids in line for a 20 min drive.

that's possible but than I'm sure he didn't follow the advice to train a dog first before starting to think about having his own children...

instead of all this different license-stuff for guns and cars and ... it's good advice to teach yourself yes/no and black/white by training a dog (or a horse) before...
(Stovey, don't take this personally because who am I to judge? I can only give ideas and throw stones in the chickenhouse...)

I got a lickin for that too. Only it was in the chicken yard...

2 dirtbikes in the garage and a safe fulla firearms in the bedroom closet.
