Stovie...It seems to me that you are in the wrong state to be making any comments. Last time I checked you were still hand feeding condors, finger printing to buy ammunition, limited to what gun you can buy. When do you start etching the serial number on the chamber walls?

Rub it in? I just purchased a handgun for my wife to carry (CCW) and it came with a fired case just for you Californian's...What that's all about I'm not sure. You finger print the chambers there too? No wonder you fire your shotgun shells from your mouth. No chamber marks.

Here I just added to my .380 collection. Very Happy

When I take my truck in to the shop they give it a quick cleaning. And every time they find lost ammo and brass for me.

.223, .270. BUCKSHOT and .22 live in the glove box just a few of each the same in my hunting buddies wagon. over the years this has proven to be a godsend when something important got left behind... Embarassed

Dude, if you leave ammo lying about here in Oz, you may actually get in trouble!!
By law, all ammo here in Oz should be LOCKED UP separately from the gun.

There is this "horror" story.

Here in Oz, the Pol-ice can lawfully knock on your door at ANY TIME (including 1 am midnight) and demand to check your firearms and ammo,
which by law should be secured and render disabled in a safe and ammo is to be locked away in a separate safe.
Although usually they make appointment before hand, they could by law insist on spot checks and you cannot refuse them.

One version of the story is that on one of the inspection, the pol-ice found ONE .177 AIR PELLET
lying about in a bench near the safe.
All hell broke lose, the owner is charged for failure to comply, and thus lost his license, got a fine and got a criminal record.

Whether or not this story is true, it portray the oppression legal gun owners experienced in Oz.

It used to be that if there is multiple licensee in a household, each of the licensee must have his or her own safes for their gun.
Thus the reason I have 5 safes in my home.
Luckily this ridiculous rule has been withdrawn.

It is strange that since the tightening of gun ownership in Oz, there is almost daily "unlawful shooting" and/or homicide happening.
It just prove that our law makers simply bend over and pull a new law out of their a55 to make it look like they are doing something..

And I've got all the time in the world to check abiding licence carriers out....Yeah Right!
The only time I check out ammo carriers is if they got a police record. Ie only bad guys get the delux treatment.

Radar, I got nothing against the cop, and I think that being one is a honorable profession.
It is the brainless law makers that I grudge.
Those morons make laws in the air-conditioned office of theirs, generalising things and do ar5e kissing.
AND, the sheeple that easily swayed by "hyper" news cr4ps.

The idiot probably wanted to be a "hero" and dropped the .22 cartridge in the puddle, called the cops and the bobbies fell for it.

My first thought was just that.
There was an identical find a couple of years back in a town on the south coast.
IIRC the finder was also involved in the music business.
