Been many weeks since I've gone to the range.
It was time yesterday. Grab the pistols, some stage props, bows, etc....hit it!
Normally a public range on a weekend is, well, an "experience". But since I'm a member- I have privileges. Woot! Got some much needed practice in with the pistol, about a hundred rounds, doing drills and stuff. And stage work.....BEEP-Left x2, Right x2, center swinger x1 - mandatory reload - center swinger x1, Right x2, Left x2. I call it Easy Peasy. Dares ya to go fast with consequences. Over at the archery practice range I shot all the bows...not sure why I waited til last to shoot the new one. I was pretty spent by then and wasn't on the ball...but got a great impression of it, it's NICE. Shoots perfect- snappy and fast limbs even with a Dacron string. Good bow. If ya can't shoot this one, go back to a COMPOUND sunny! Hahahaha! There's a 3D range next to it with 14 trail stops. Gona try that next week.
1- Action Pistol bay #5 all to myself. Seems huge when it's not full of stage props (50x20y) The new surface is like carpet. It's NICE.
2- Goodie Bag....yum yum yum yum...(yes, Vinny, there's snacks in there too....)
3- Pick a bow, any bow. Nice shady place to set up the string. It was 90'ish.
4- First 5 out of the new Sequoia.
5- Targets to 75y.

Moved over to 20y with the new stick. Got a couple nice groups. Still pretty tired but pumped (into the ether now: "just one more string of fire!") I moved over to 30y. I was on the paper then sent a zinger over the top - ZIIIIIINNNNG! man it took off, up n outa the park. Found my arrow and......
That's enough for today kids.
What a great place to play and compete. So fortunate to live here.

Looks like a good day at the range!
Is that a hostage in front of the right hand silhouette?

Sort of!....it's called a "no-shoot". Hit that and really bad things happen to your score for the stage...as in fugettaboutit!
I've seen (and myself) shooters clean a really long stage (32rds) and get killer hits...then the RO holds up his hand and....uh-oh...there's a hole in the white guy and they log the no-shoot in....and said shooter proceeds to melt down in a most un-professional way! Grown men do cry!

You'all are TOO kind.
For a change...hah!
Them feather should have been touching! Weeeee!
Definitely going to shoot the Sequoia first next time. I'll be it's a keeper. If you can get past the fact it's not a 750$ bow? It sure feels like one shooting it. Love it! 3 long bows, all sorta look the same but are way different.
IMHO if the bow is tillered right, it should shoot if tuned correctly. My sub-$200.00 bows so far do just that. They will produce super-fine accuracy if the shooter can hold still long enough!
What am I doing here at work! Faf! Range time!

Thanks LV! Horrible conditions and I was really tired.
I like this group better! Ravine shooting around/over stuff from earlier June (rusty). Low but tight @ 25y +.
I've had some pretty good results of late. Camera refuses to work outdoors in bright hot sun for some reason. Sorry.

Yes, nice group but it still looks like a miss except for maybe minute of elk. Keep plugging away, stovey. Wish I was there to shoot with you.

Yup- bout 3" low.
Was going for group not POI.
But you are right- keep practicing. Barebow shooting is hard but super satisfying.
Comon up the mountain anyol time....we'll shoot the bows, the pistols, the rifles, the pop guns and the 50 cal AR15 ....
All in the same spot- bout 3 mins. from here!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The thought has crossed my mind several times. I used to work with LM in Goodyear AZ 2x a month but they moved the work to Denver just after you moved from the Left-Coast.
