I've been flying/driving/hanging around in airports for 18 hours, then sleeping off some of my jet-lag.

Went for a hunt this evening, got clagged in with cloud but saw some awesome sunset due to the volcanic dust in the atmosphere.
Mt Tongariro had another fart today - nothing major, just a fart in the general gist of things.
No Deer Oh Dear how sad never mind.

Got about 3 inches of rain and more on the way, local flooding and heavy winds blowing trees down. The weatherman says it's the first of the storms. Don't like the sound of that.....I have 2 more weekends to get a doe....preping for Thanksgiving day right now. I'm in charge of dip. Gonna make some with smoked salmon, Oregon shrimp and bacon, then one with clams, chives and cayenne pepper. A relative of mine has sent me some cactus jelly and Indian bread, don't know if I'm going to share that or not. Jonnie brought home an antelope, can't wait to try that out! He's on his way to get an elk too, bstrd won't let me come along. I tend to out-shoot him, but I don't think he's at any risk this year, I've proven to be good at missing lately. He rarely hunts but he found a guy that's guiding him on horse back and is really excited. Jon has a horse but doesn't get to use him much, so this is a real treat for him. Hope the rain doesn't hold him off, it's been torrential.
Just remembered I'm supposed to get a UPS delivery today! I ordered a plastic butt-stock and fore grip for my 30-30 so the rain won't be so hard on the wood. Been using the AR-15 for deer hunting in the rain but I haven't been able to manage it very well. I'm using a regular rifle sling over the shoulder and the pad on it has some grippy rubber that sticks to my jacket, then the pistol grip gets caught on my pants and swinging it up to shoot has been cumbersome. I like my 30-30 better.

Got 90 - 100 km/h (55-60mph) wind last night at home.
Near blown my gates down

That is a lot of fertilizer. Nearly 900 pounds per acre.
