The Triple Shock bullets are AWESOME. Their performance is in no way related to the other Barnes offerings (X-Bullet, XLC, etc.). They are unquestionably the most accurate hunting bullet I've loaded, and I've loaded a few. I have loaded Triple Shocks in the following calibers: 243 Win, 270 Win, 7mm-08, 7mm Rem Mag, 308 Win, 300 Win Mag, 300 Weatherby, 30-06, 340 Weatherby, 378 Weatherby, and 458 Win Mag. Every single one of those calibers shoots better (smaller) than 1" groups at 100 yards, and that is not hyperbole. I have my 378 WBY set up for long distance shooting - 1/2" groups at 100 yards, 2" at 400 yards (Nightforce 3-15 NSX, Krieger 410 stainless short-chambered barrel). Muzzle velocity on this gun with 270 grain Triple Shocks (TSX) is 3200 fps. 300 WBY, same accuracy, with 168 grains (3400 fps), 180 grains (3200 fps), and 200 grain (3050 fps)TSX bullets. I use the 168 grains for hunting, muzzle velocity 3400 fps out of a stock Accumark.

Yesterday I took possession of a new CZ 550 in .458 Win Mag. I loaded 12 Swift A-Frames (450 grain bullets, 73 grains of IMR 4895), and 6 Barnes TSX (450 gr., 73 gr. 4895). I spent 10 A-Frames seasoning the barrel, then shot a 2" group with the Swifts at 100 yards, 2070 fps. Switched to the Barnes Triple Shocks, FIRST group down range measured under 3/4", at 2100 fps.

Another example, I am getting 3150 fps out of a 180 grain TSX in a 300 Win Mag (Dakota Traveller). Groups at 3/4". That is close to what you would expect (velocity wise) out of a 300 Weatherby. 81 grains of ReLoader 25, which by the way, is an excellent powder for 300 WBY.

You cannot go wrong with Barnes Triple Shocks. Their performance on game is devasting, you get better accuracy and higher velocities than any other hunting bulet available (that I've tried, anyway), and copper fouling is less than a typical gilded metal hunting bullet.

The loads I have worked up average about a grain or two of powder more than Barnes recommends for the plain Jane X-bullets. I am typically able to use the powder charge recommended for the XLCs. No signs of high pressure at those loads, but (obviously) be careful, and start below the max advertised. The ony problem I had was using 115 grains of H4831SC in my 378 WBY for the 270 grain TSX - that is a load Hornady recommends for their 270 grain Interlock. The round was way accurate, and way fast, but the cases kept getting stuck. I dropped back to 112.5 grains H4831SC, no problems. This is the load I use for long range shooting, took two feral hogs at 400 yards, and a Javelina from 535 yards.

Welcome to the HuntingNut surfdog. I mostly shoot Nosler bullets but these triple shocks sound pretty nice I may have to give them a try.

Howdy. Just bought a box 30 cal 180grain gonna try them in the 308 Norma Mag. I should have the gun finished in about a week or so. Ill let ya know how they shoot then
