I'm with Suz....more studies are needed. Get Holder and his Fast-n-Furious team on it ASAP.

Barrels are barrels. They are in a constant state of flux from wear, heat, etc. What works one day might not the rest. If it works for you cool. I just shoot 'em, clean 'em to a practical point, puttem away- most BR's do too. My M-59 has I guarntee the worst bore youve ever seen- looks like the moon. It shoots in after 5-10 rounds and short of a new chamber and tube it aitn getting any better no matter what ya run down it. I dont bother getting it, or any of mine, mirror spotless for a lot of reasons.

But again if this product works for the buyer, that's a good thing! I dont need it. It wont make a whip contour barrel run cooler and stop stringing etc. and I tune laods with COL and charge weights and I'm super leary of anything claiming it shrinks groups other than letting the tube cool or replacing a shot out tube cuz coatings just shoot out like the barrel does. Bushy made a good point too...how ever did the all the old timers get along wi/out all this good stuff.

The AK testimonial was a good laugh.

This sounds very similar to a product reviewed some time ago in either Handloader or Rifle Magazine. The opinion was that it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (by the way, what was the greatest thing before sliced bread? Confused ) Funny that there has never been a follow-up. Maybe not so magical?

Lots of claims for Pufflon and moly too. Some like them and others have had bad experiences. It all boils down to the fact that there just isn't a "magic bullet" (pun intended) that is going to be the cure-all. Sure have some neat sales pitches though!

Might be a lil off topic but I'd be more interested in something that retards throat errosion in magnums. I run my bullet prety close to the lands to help keep blowby to a min and reduce the charge a scoche but still...lots of powder going off, burning and kernals blasting the throat. I just dont see anything not tougher than steel preventing this. On my pistols I use a carpneters pencil (grahpite) and coat the force cone to help retard errosion caused by powder kernals blasting it.

You bring up a good point Stovey, the trick of using graphite on the cone has been around for a little bit. Also the use of coatings on the powder to slow down the burn rate which decreases initial burn temperature. By doing this you cut down throat erosion.

Hot rod rounds will contribute to even faster throat erosion especially on small calibers with over bore cartridges since your burning a lot of powder pushing a lot of hot gases down a small hole.

Aah...And where does the graphite go when the first bullet passes through the forcing cone?

You are saying that I have to re-graphite the forcing cone after ech shot?

Nope. But if ya start with a clean sheet it hangs in there pretty good till fouling covers that spot. Used it mostly in SBH pistols and heavy H110 loads as that powder is like sand blasting to the cone/throats, or so the theory goes.

Oh good...I'm safe then. I only use 2400 and W-296 for my magnum loads. Knew there was a reason I didn't stick with H110.

Gee. I thought I'd get a comment like...W-296 is the same as H110...Or...W-231 is the same as HP38...

What stumps? I cut them flush with the ground. There's BTU's in that stump and it will burn just fine in my stove...Stovey... wtf

Unfortunately, some poor schmuck will buy it and swear it is the greatest thing since having sex with a nubile 22 year old redhead. First clue he/she/it never had sex with a nubile 22 year old redhead.

But, then again I could be wrong. Embarassed

OOOOooooohhhhh - a 22 year old redhead - I'm a sucker for redheads. If this stuff comes with a redhead, I'm in.

I've been in trouble with more redheads (no matter what colour their hair was) than I care to count. Of course that was before I was happily married.
