Has anyone got a T3 in .223 with a 1:8 twist barrel, Looking at buying one and want to know what or if there's any issues. Tikka have put them out into the New Zealand market and they're not badly priced.
I already have a Tikka T3 7mm08 and thats a great gun.

radar, its basically the same gun as your 7mm but with a longer, heavier barrel and stock enhancement. If you like your 7mm you should like the .223. I helped a friend buy and he is very pleased. You can modify the magazine to hold extended COAL round loaded with 80 SMK or 75/80 A-Max.

I've the T3 Hunter [blue] with the 1:12 and it loves Winchester 55grners (50 Pkt)
If there availability wasn't so unreliable I would have stuck with them.
But reloading was easy, it loves 25 grn BM2 with 55grn Nosler BT's
A mate has the 1:8 Sako (same barrel aparently) and is working with either 69 or 79grn Hornady's ?? Yet to see the results.

Im going out to the range today with a mix of 55gn .223 ammo to put through my current .223 (Russian Baikal single shot which has been through the Remington Spartan gun works). It shoots reasonably well when I do my part. But thats why I want to move up to a 1:8 barrel.

My 1:12 loves 60grners as well

With the 1:8 twist, you can shoot 80 SMK or 75/80 A-Max bullets and reach out to 800 yards maybe 1000 yards.
