Does anyone have the current Hornady Reloading manual that can help me out with some loads for the subject calibre?
Thanks Smile

Hodgdon lists some loads on their website for 165 grain Nosler Partitions that would get you started. It doesn't look like Varget is one of the better powders for that cartridge, the loads are slower than several other powders.

I tried Varget [57.5grn] with 150grn corelokts grouped really well and the muzzle flash was sensational, even in daylight. No ideaa of MV.
Have only tried H4350 with 165 Barnes [64grns]

Hodgdon.com lists a load for Hornady GMX. Hornady says the GMX is supposed to use the same loads as the SST. BTW, I love my GMX bullets and would recommend them over the SST. As Pkslinger said, other powders produce higher velocities. It looks like you will have lots of unused case capacity from the powder weights listed. I'd try some Superformance if it were me - its lower pressure with more velocity. Min load in Superformance beats max load in Varget.

165 GR. HDY GMX Hodgdon Varget .308" 2.840"
Min 51.0 2810 fps 56,700 PSI
Max 54.5 2948 fps 63,600 PSI

165 GR. HDY GMX Hodgdon Suprform .308" 2.840"
min 64.0 2952 fps 51,600 PSI
max 69.0C 3169 fps 62,700 PSI

I tried the 150GMX with W760 and didn't get a group.
Still have most of the box + Barnes are cheaper [Aus]

The GMX's in my .270 Win shoot less than .5 MOA. Very pleased. 55.5gr, IMR4350, Rem Brass, CCI primers.
