as I was out in the scrub today and took photo on my cellphone_ to email home _to transfer into a folder_ to post in a message on "the nut"
I wondered if there is a way to short circuit the system and email direct from the phone to "somewhere" here to post some info onto it later on???
it could just be a big hassle but any thoughts???

If your phone has web access, you can log into your account on the Nut and upload the photo(s) to your photo album.

I thought of that , then dismissed it as the telcos over here charge like a wounded water buffalo for internet acess and I dont know if I could work out how to get around the nut without a mouse!!

Does your phone have WiFi? As soon as I get home my iPhone connects to my network and I can go nuts on it.

no chance, just a simple cell. I guess its not too big a issue now we have faster internet, I will just send it to home and get SWMBO to help me from there as that works ok.

Ok, here's the plan. You "drop" your phone on your next hunting trip, you claim it on insurance and get yourself a smart phone.

Problem solved!

Drop the phone on the ground, shoot it twice (center of mass) and bury it.
Forget about it and get a phone with a cord. If it rings when you are hunting it won't matter because you won't hear it and either will the game - its back at home.

Take a camera with you if you want to take photos, and if it is an electronic camera then turn the artificial shutter noise off.

very good advice Paul. my txt tone is a tui bird chirping away previously it was ducks quacking and the animals seemed to ignore it.
I do have a wee camera too which isnt too bad as it was cheap enough that if it dies it wont hurt too much. my phone takes better photos.

When we were in Costa Rica on a bird walk, the guide would capture the various birds calls on his cell then play them back and the birds would come right to us or at least hang around with curiosity while we got a good look.

One guy must have been challenging someones territory as he was all ready to fight every time the cell song was played. heh heh
