Well, something I've noticed over the past couple of years...it appears that crime is now a legitimate career choice.

This Judge needs to be removed from the Bench immediately and as Pete said, all of his previous cases need scrutinizing for "anomalies". I think Gelan may have it right...the Judge's bank account might just be a little healthier after this case.

Many years ago, while waiting to testify on a case, I sat in court in Charlotte, NC and saw this. A guy broke into a car parts store and stole a battery. The cops, responding to the burglar alarm, caught him exiting the building with the battery in hand. The crook claimed he worked at the store and was borrowing the battery to jump start his car. The store owner was called and confirmed that the crook did NOT work for him. After hearing all this the judge said "I believe this young man would have returned the battery when he was finished with it." and let the SOB go!! After that I was wondering if I'd get arrested for reporting the crime I was there to testify about...

You can always tell if a Judge has been burgled or had a member of his family killed by a drunk driver....any offender who comes before them gets nailed!
This judge is still living in fantasy land with all the other elves and pixies.

that story about the battery reminds me of something that happened in Timaru a few years back.
a battery was taken off a doorstep one night only to return a few days later with a thankyou note explaining flat battery had to jump car to get to work but here are some theatre tickets as a thankyou....
well thats nice they thought and off to the show they went.... to come home to a house that had been cleaned out!!!!!
we need more "hanging judges" to sort out the world.
