Dimitri, I also work with RFID in my daily job.
I actually have a 125khz reader that work at 1.5 meters away.
the antenna is about the size of a briefcase.
The mifare 13mhz readers could be easily obtained for good reading up to 300mm , 1 foot away.
Average encryption for a good Rfid card is now 64 bits, and a secure card can encrypt to 256 bits.
With Keeloq rolling code, this would be very difficult to break into, however, it is possible.

Okay, but now imagine having the need for a antenna that can track someone in a entire city block, and filter out all the other cards that try responding to the signal.
The whole "the government tracking you" angle to it doesn't seem to be too practical is all I'm saying, and the convience of RFID type cards (such as my MasterCard) is very nice.

Easy, simply install one on every footpath somewhere, sooner or later everyone would walk pass it.
Of course there is ways to evade if wanted, but again if you are implanted, the easiest way is to built some sort of faraday cage or dampening cage for the unit.
I agree the convenience of RFID payment system is very nice.
Although I seldom use it, my credit cards does have Paypass RFID on it.
OTOH, in my travels I love RFID prepaid stuff, in some places I could buy McDonalds with my bus/metro card.
Saves me figuring out currency notes and changes.

Im still not a fan. Im like Vince, you would have to catch me first then subdue me, unconscious, cause I'd fight with every bone in my body.
Remember when cell phones came in a briefcase and only made calls...... look what they can do now!
Technology moves at an exponential rate and there are people out there always testing the bounds of systems and how they can influence them.
I believe we cant be complacent.

Easiest way since its put in between your skin and the fatty tissue is just to cut it out.

Maybe, but cutting it out may inconvenient you should there be any thing you want that required the implant..
oh well..
Actually I am seriously considering to have myself implanted.
It would be cool to jump into my car and started it without keys,
or to open my safe, my door, or to lock my guns to myself etc.
However considering is not actual doing it.. it is just that.. consider..
It is sad that in this society you have to LOCK your possession because of the handful of low life are allowed to breed and multiply.

you forgot the important words at the end of that statement....
AT THIS STAGE
Let this stage go ahead and next thing we will stick it nice n deep in the bone or in your skull where you cant take it out.
back to my original point on it if you have all this stuff relying on it working then if someone wants to shut you down/out they just exclude your chip from the system and you are right royally screwed.

They can do the same thing now anyways, seize your financial assets and invalidate your drivers license etc.
Just as screwed, just in a slightly different way.

Simple.
Insert one into EVERY politician.
At the first sign of lying, incompetence, pork barreling, thieving, infidelity or not keeping their word, turn them off.
Make them outcasts, no money no job no travel.
I'm starting to like this idea, oooops.
