MacD, an FNC in 7.62? The FNC's I know are 5.56 Nato (.223 Win), now coming with a very fast twist for heavy bullets. The FAL is another thing... most FAL's will like the 7.62 Nato or the .308 WIN (alltough here in Belgium you can also find them in .243 Win or 7-08 due to strange caliber rules in the past)

Aloy:

The military in Canada designated the FAL model produced in Canada by Canadian Arsenals limited as the FNC1A1. The C2 was a automatic version and was the squad LMG. The D1 model fires semi-auto and short bursts (think it was three rounds) The C1 is identical to the L1A1 that the British used with a few mods for use in cold weather. I loved this rifle. My only complaint was it needed to be clean and free of any oil when used in sub-zero temps or the gas piston would drag so bad it would not drive the breech block back far enough to pick up another round. Like all NATO we have traded effective range and hitting power for increased firepower when we went to the 5.56 caliber. Call me old but I think this was a big mistake.

that's the FAL. Mine is the so-called para-FAL with shorter barrel, hinged buttstock and the front blade is not adjustable, only exchangeable. It's rather heavy but all by all it's a nice rifle and a symbol for Belgian gunindustry and history.

This is my target gathering time of year. Once the election is over, I just go to a busy intersection and grab all I want. They come with nice heavy wire frames to stick in the ground and depending of the candidate represented, they even come with built in incentive.

those type of signs are banned in our local area by the city. they were having too many rear-end collisions with people stopping to pick them up.

Too flash for me Stovey. We made ours nice and simple...a square frame made from start pickets (steel fence posts) with the side posts longer and sharpened to push into the ground. Wrapped the chain around the top bar at the ends and welded it to the back of the plates.

They clang and swing and buck and jump, but don't come apart, unless the chain gets hit, then its out with the welder agin.

I'm real partial to plastic jugs full of water... Very Happy

I finally got my 13 year old out to the shooting range with me and all I can say is that he like the explosions those jugs made... Shocked
