:? Hey dan1dad-don't wan't to ruin your day anymore-but get ready, sit down, pour yourself a shot........cause it sounds like your little girl has got that dreaded disease called"puberty" kicking in!Sounds to me like the classic symptoms of not wanting to talk, hiding in bedroom, etc. Not a shrink and don't know your daughter-but classic signs! If this is true-then you will need to talk to more parents that have already raised daughters.......or you will need a shrink!
Sorry for the loss of your dog-you might consider picking up one of those pups from the humane society that need a home. Those turn out to be some of the best-most grateful dogs that i've ever been around.Somehow they must know that they've been saved from being destroyed! |
I've heard the same from other parents. They say it starts around 12 or 13, and ends, if your lucky, between 16 to 18
Bo, our dog that died today was just that, a wonderful humane society dog. All 3 of our dogs are adopted dogs. 2 humane society, Bo and a Shepard named Gromit, after the Wallace and Gromit Claymation's , and there is Abby, a pure bred Yorkie that an neighbor bought for his wife. She wouldn't get off the couch to let the dog out and it messed in the house. He doesn't like dogs that much anyway so they ask us if we wanted it. Abby is a great little dog and once messed in the house when we didn't get her out in time. And she will let you know when she has to go. Very vocally and if your sleeping she jumps on your checks and makes a low grumble howl.
Bo was a great laid back dog, you could do anything in the world to him and he would just have a big dog smile on his face and prance around with his tail wagging. I remember not long after we adopted him the girls had him sitting on a small wooden stool as they dressed him up in doll and build a bear clothes. He just sat there and looked like he loved every minute of it.
My youngest named him Bo, after David Bowie. Not that she is a fan of his music to much, but she loves the movie Labyrinth- by jim henson the muppet guy- Bowie was the Goblin King and his hair was white and stuck up kind of like Bo's did.
The worst part is I just cant get the whole event out of my head. He just started yelping, running into things, falling on the floor panting, whinning and shaking, drooling for around 5 minutes straight, then laid there just panting and drooling. I went online to look up the number of the emergency vet, wrote it down, then looked back over to see how he was doing and he was gone. I dont think I would have had time to even get him to the vet. This started and ended around 5:30 am.
He had been sick for a few days before that, but it was more like a dog flu or cold. He'd just sleep, eat, do his job in the yard and then go back to sleep. Didnt like being bothered by the other dogs. He was an ugly little mutt, but he was our ugly little mutt.
