Good to hear you are on the improve Gelan...it's evil being crook with a virus like that, and I saw what my Dad used to go through with bronchitis...not pleasant.

Well, I am on my 4th day of antibiotics and only marginal improvement...I hope to blue blazes that I come good as easy and quickly as you Gelan...I feel like death slightly warmed up mate. Worst time of day is when the night air comes down...it seems to feed the bugs and all the aches and pains and unpleasantness come on with a vengeance...especially the sore throat.. Weirdest sore throat I've ever had...at night it extends deep into the tissues surrounding the throat, even the tongue.

I won't go into the colours and consistency of gunk my body is producing...suffice to say it is sickening and not at all pleasant. Yuck Yuck

As an aside...I have had a recommendation to try a Chinese herb called Reishi Liver. All of the research I have done on the web seems to indicate that this stuff is the "duck's guts" for improving and maintaining health. Anybody else heard of it or have any experience with the stuff?

I dunno...I wouldn't eat liver, it's the blood's filter mechanism and can be full of toxins. If it's from a grass fed animal and not an animal forced to grow faster with lots of growth hormone or other chemicals, then it might be ok because actually the liver is full of beneficial nutrients that it uses to neutralize toxic stuffs in the body. But if you don't know, I'd stay away. Get lots of B12. The last doctor I worked for used to hand out shots of B12 whenever the flu was going around and I'd say it helped.

Sorry, I hope it's a short lived bugger.

Reishi isn't "liver" Suz...it is actually a Chinese mushroom mate.

Eat liver!?!? Not a chance in creation...apart from kidney and brains, it is the most revolting offal product and will never be seen in my diet mate.

No, can't say I've heard of it before. I see what you mean about Dr's not recognising it...they are downright against it from what I read mate.

If you're using colloidal silver you may want to read what the Mayo Clinic has to say about it's use.

get real

Very Happy Suz;all of that info is known. As far as the claims of no beneficial stuff and studies is because the ama are the lapdogs of the pharma industries and would lose their perks packages if they gave any credit to silver. It has had a re-newed interest because of it's effectiveness but mostly in the homeopathic community.I don't trust the ama or big pharma with all of the untested poisons that they have released in recent years, and at OUR ages I refuse to be a big pharma pill junkie!JMHPFO!

My brother is a pharmacist so I'm a bit prejudice, but still, if silver builds up in your system and turns you blue (with over-use) which is not reversible I would tend to use it with caution, especially if self-medicating. When Elvis said they use heaps of it, that makes me cringe. Your body can't get rid of it, you are piling up more and more of it in your system and it's not a mineral the body needs.

If you don't trust "big pharma" then at least find out how and why the homeopathic community subscribes it. I'd be interested to know of their trials and testing and what they have to say about the USFDA's issued warnings against using it. Even though it has been touted as a cure for AIDS, cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes and a few other little problems, it's not used in main-stream medicine as such. Doesn't that mean anything, other than they're hiding us from it's "effectiveness"? Now why would they do that?

You're going on the premise that they won't sell it to us as a pharmaceutical because it would be a sure-cure and they've got lots and lots of useless stuff to sell instead, so the money's in the useless stuff.
I don't buy that at all.

well if SWMBO turns blue I might finally get to live out my fantasy about Smurfet!!!!
the dog gets a drop in each eye when he has been out fossicking around in pine pollen etc it stops his eyes from puffing up better than anything vet has prescribed. Ive had it in my own eyes when dust has got in during our windy norwest days and its great for that.
Im wary of the homo pathetic community as the dragon in law is into the stuff and we have locked horns a few times about med for our kids.
thankyou for looking out for us Suz.

Laughing Suz-it's all about the money-just follow the money! They have stated that the side effcts are turning blue, but to get to shat state the user needs to take many mnay times the precribed amounts over long periods. And that their have been people that have used it for years without argeria appearing, and even some that "overdosed" and started to get bluish tints around the face like many old alcoholics get vericos veins around the nose and cheeks, and the silvers users stopped the argeria effects when they stopped using silver and allowed the body to "clean out" over a couple of months time frame.DOctors tell people that there is no way to clean out heavy metals from your body-but that is also a half truth.Point in fact-the navy used "chelation"to rid painters of lead, and zinc in there systems-as far back as WW2.So much for the half truths propogated by the AMA!Big pharma just can't make enough money from the sale/use of silver-seeing as how you can get it at a coin dealer!YMMV.
