Shocking news. Tonight, my daughter T's husband, N, was cold-cocked from behind and knocked unconscious, then beaten about the back of the head and shoulders and left, still unconscious, by the side of the road in the cold pouring rain. This from his oldest friend whom he has known since kindergarden. He has been released from the hospital and is at home. He will be ok but has a broken clavicle and probably a concussion.

N has asked me not to do anything about this

bet Nathan has some great photos of him doing weird n wonderfull things if they have been mates for that long...and make sure you dont fall out with the Son in law if they "kiss n make up"

How is Tessa mate...is she handling things OK?

Do you know what precipitated the attack Marty? Did they argue? Did your SIL do or say something that would have made his friend angry enough to do what he did? Before you find him and rip his head off so you can crap down his throat, make sure that there isn't more to it than what you have been told mate. Do some investigating and endeavour to get the FULL story...there is bound to be more to it than what you have been told.

Also, as Elvis said...don't land yourself in the sh1te exacting a little revenge through some "contact counselling" mate.

Yeah, self-control and a rational approach . . . Sure is a bitch to remain civilized at times like these.

T is a rock! She has dealt with so much over the past 18 months, yet she is nursing N through this, calming family and friends (as in breaking up the lynch-mob), acting as "communications central" and following up with the local and state police and the DA's office to make sure the charges are pursued.
The latter is key because E, the aggressor, is an ex-cop with close friends in both state and prosecutor's office (The local cops and chief of police have no use for this scumbag. Over the past several years they have had to suspend him a number of times but were unable to modify his behavior and sacked him; have had several run-ins with him since.)

The approach at this point is to follow up all legal avenues. First criminal court, next civil court . . .

Not to worry. I didn't get to be 64 years old by acting rashly. Cool on the outside, calculating on the inside, biding my time.

This guy will hang himself, given enough rope. He is a narcissist (sp ?) an egomaniac a compulsive liar and bully.

Today he will be trying to persuade N to drop charges. He will be launching an avalanche of lies, contacting all of their mutual friends.

Bushy, If I was planning to do anything to this guy, I wouldn't have posted anything. This guy is a meathead. He has already taken revenge on himself by his actions. He is jail-bound and such a hothead that he will constantly be in trouble there until (if) he can get some effective psychiatric help.

All family members are alert and well-protected.

I don't forget, though. I plan to be a concerned participant in his parole hearing.

Jail time...if he did that out here he would get maybe two slaps on the wrist, although the first one would be a firm slap to let him know he was a naughty boy. Oh yeah, and they would probably give him a teddy bear because he obviously didn't have one as a child.

Bloody Courts...I hope yours are better than ours mate.
