Loke,
What local store do you work at, if you don't mind my asking?

Cz 455 varmint?
I have a 453, when I bought it I also purchased a box of just about every type of .22 lr they had on the shelves.
It hates anything with cci on the box, federal some ok but not consistent, ssk rifle match quite good, winchester bushman very good to 50 meter, like a shotgun at 75 and 100, winchester powerpoint 42 grn hollowpoint, one hole groups at 25 and 50 meters and moa at 100, if I do my job right also very consistant.

Has a lot of good reading on setting up the cz and a lot of amusing posts about north americans worrying about prices when you guys get it at 1/2 the price we do.
Cheers

Hope mine has as nice wood. Should be in next week. I was tempted to buy the Super Match with its 12 groove bore and its much better price. I did not find a lot of reports on it online. Haven't seen any 42 grain Wins here. I am hoping the CCI Mini Mags will perform well.

I've heard good things about it, but never stopped in there. A bit of a drive for me as I'm further north.

Great store, been a fan of it for 20 years or more. Only store in the state that carries the sabots I use in my smoke poles. Definitely worth the drive if you are in the neighborhood. Maybe only 15 min past Cabelas if traffic isn't bad.

Loke, .22 rimfires are funny critters mate...ammo one loves, another hates.
Buy a 50rd box of a few different brands and you should find the ammo it likes. In my experience, I have found that the subsonics and standard velocity ammo seems to group the best, followed by the high velocity then hyper velocity. Best part about that is the slightly cheaper price for the slower ammo. Having said that, like dhc4ever found, my "go to" bunny rifle (a Krico) loves Winchester Powerpoint which is one of the fast ammo types.
If you can find it, I highly recommend the Federal Champion 36gr round, and in the 525 bulk pack it is great value.

Went out today, and got in some shooting before the cold front moved in. I tried several different loads. Remington subsonic was OK, but tended to print two groups within the 5 shot group. Federal High Velocity Match was pathetic. Federal Standard match showed some promise. Here's the pleasant surprise, The best groups were consistently shot with American Eagle 38 gr. hollow points. The cheapest stuff of the lot. When the winds weren't gusting 1/2 inch groups at 50 were the norm. Nice and round with no fliers now that I have a parallax adjustable scope on the gun.

Loke,
Great job! Just finding a diverse selection of 22 LR ammo is hard but discovering the you can use the less expensive ammo and shoot well with it is really great.
Recoil therapy is always good - no matter the amount of recoil. Printing small groups is always fun.
