Yesterday I took my neighbor to my local gun club to shoot a few rifles and handguns. The neighbor is 50 years old and has been away from shooting for a number of years. He bought a Luger and a Model 1911 Rock Island and really likes military arms. We shot his 1911, a Walther P-38, a Smith & Wesson model 66 .357 magnum on the handgun range. Then we moved to the rifle range and he shot an AR-15 and a scoped Remington Model 581 bolt action .22 l.r. He shot very well and had a great time.

The problem that has surfaced is that we wants to go to the range as much as possible. Since I work a few days a week as a Range Officer, we can get out to the range every week. He wants to shoot just about every gun that I own. Then if we have some time left over, he wants to learn to cast bullets and reload. I enjoy teaching other folks how to shoot, cast and reload so I am looking forward to all of this. All the best...
Gil

Gil, thanks for bringing another into the sport. Hopefully he will appreciate what you are doing and also respect you, your time, and your equipment and start getting guns and reloading equipment of his own. All the best!

Another "Nut" recruit? Good range buddies make shooting even more fun. Up here it isn't hard to find someone who likes to shoot but the hassle of gun ownership means fewer have thier own handguns.

BUGGER...that means you will have to do more shooting Gil...that's a shame mate. Wink

This is a golden opportunity for you to train your mate up properly, and also get his youngsters interested as well mate. Well done.

Gil I believe I may have done the same thing
Nathans best mate hadnt shot a duck on Friday
Saturday he came out with me using my old astra cyclope single .12ga and my 7/8th oz reloads and dropped a big male parrie duck.
today Nathan came with us to one of my best jump shoot pozzies..we got sprung before the first mob and I managed 1 mallard but we got the next one right
and when I say right mate we had em stuffed...we got our selves on other side of a stop bank from them and crept right in then "up and over the top boys" and into them Nathan doubled with the SxS, Aston fired single barrel reloaded fired again for 2 drakes and I managed 4 with the pump
birds were raining down everywhere, one moment that will stick with me for a life time.
we managed to find all birds with help of dogs then sat and plucked them all. we managed another single for tally of 10 for the arvo.
got home and boots n all into the gutting then the boys cleaned the guns.
Ive told Aston he welcome to come shooting with me again, a real credit to his Mum.

Elvis,
Sounds like a great time. I hate it when that happens. All the best...
