Of course what we post is being monitored.
We are sitting at a public table in a public place and the government is sitting at the table next to ours. When you say something it is "overheard, assessed and evaluated".
It can be evaluated regardless of it being an off hand remark for which there is not only no means to carry through with the thought or even whether is was intended as an actual threat.
Our government is afraid of us! They are concerned, and rightly so, that we will shed the restrictions they are attempting to bridle us with and put in place a government that better provides for our freedom, liberty and rights as has happened before. If the government was not trying to restrain us they would have no reason to fear us nor us them,

Paul, are you really convinced they are also monitoring "nuts"?

Aloyisious,
The technology is that at every main communications junction in the USA there is an "echo trap" that catches everything being carried by the telecommunications lines. It collects all the "meta data" of every communication and scans for key words. If the communication holds any of the key words then that communication is flagged and read. Nothing is ever missed and the meta data can recall the communication at a later date to look at who received it, who sent it, and then it can be connected to other meta data to see if any events can be tied to it.
An "off the cuff" remark like, "they ought to take the senator out back and hang him!" would be captured (this one has been) and then they trace it back to this board and to me. If you comment to my remark then you are also tagged. If by some freak of nature something happens to a senator then we will be looked at very closely as possible suspect or co-conspirators.
When they read this they should find that I was just explaining the process and I am not a threat - but they might decide to take action too. It has happened quite recently on a board that I know about. You alphabet soup guys have a nice day - OK?
