We have what we call scrub turkeys here in Queensland but I don't think they would be much good to chew on. Confused

They say you should boil them with a house brick and when you can push a fork into the brick throw the bird away and eat the brick! wtf

Apart from that, nothing that you could call a turkey out here to hunt.

My son and I are going out for the first time this spring. In NH the spring season is shotgun only and very restrictive. Only sunrise to 12 noon and toms only. I the fall it is bow only but sunrise to sunset either sex. Scott, my son, had a flock of 15 birds feeding around him within 15yds last fall. Course he was sitting under a bunch of corn stalks with the 243 waiting for the deer to come out. Ba humbug, damn-it.

Sounds almost like our old restrictions execpt we dont get the fall Sad

Toms only, Shotguns only, half hour before sunrise till noon.

Now the only difference is we can hunt the half before sunrise till half hour sunset like all animals. Smile

We dont get the fall though at all. So atleast it gives you a chance to use your bow in the fall (assuming its during archery only deer season and you got a extra tag for turkey Wink

It's shotgun, bow or crossbow in Ohio which starts late April through late May for sping hunt and October fall hunt. There is also an archery only season which starts the end of October through most of November. Spring hunt is toms only and you can only hunt till noon and you can buy 2 tags. Fall is either and you can hunt all day but you can only have one tag for the entire fall season. The tags are over the counter.
