Oy, tough year in northern Alberta for this hunter. Seeing lots, but nothing either that we have a tag for or on property we're allowed to hunt on. Oh how I wish I got my Moose draw this year.

Does the game department let the animals know who has the tags? Is that why you only see the animals you can't have?

Cool pictures. Seen a ton of moose here in Utah, one bull I would have shot had I had a tag. Sadly it takes decades of points to draw a moose tag... good news is I'm near the top tier, which means I'll get a tag in the next 5 years.
Big suckers though... had one smaller bull charge my truck.

I've been eager for the season to open in two weekends. While hunting for hogs two weeks ago, I watched this buck come to my feeder for 30 minutes. Its only an 8-point whitetail but his tines are twice as tall as the other mature bucks in the area. Biggest buck I have every seen with my eyes. It took him 10 minutes to move 75 feet from the underbrush to the feeder. He moved so slow and cautiously, always scanning, he never tripped the motion sensor. These are 4 time lapse snapshots. I also merged some night shots into one image at the other feeder. It will be interesting to see if I have the patience to wait for his return during the rut or the luck to meet him again. I plan on being out on the lease most of November. I replay my moves to engage him so I can go to sleep at night (better than thinking about work). .270 at the ready with 129 LRXs!
