Last weekend I was invited to share a stall to sell stuff (my knives and touchmarks and stamps etc) in the Lithgow Ironfest show meets yearly.
Rather than turning up in a normal clothing, I thought to "blend" in with the local kooks and weirdos that dressed up to the show yearly.
The show was a success, I was so busy I have not have time to take more photos.
There are a lot of truly marvelous costume wore by the show visitors, from storm troopers, roman gladiators, victorian era girls, stempunks etc.
Here is another photo of a very interesting tricycle, I was lucky to have this photo taken since it was early morning before all the visitor gets into the showground. A few minutes later, the cycle was surrounded by crowds. |
Haha thats cool. I like the guy next to you in the Steampunk outfit.
I will admit to attending our local "comicon" a few weeks ago. Didnt dress up for it however. I'd guess 40% of the folk were in some form of costume. The stage shows are highly entertaining and its alot of fun to meet actors and whatnot after. Even got a picture with Kate Beckinsale during it. Its something I do with my Boy occasionally.
I really dont see any difference in someone dressing up for a comicon, renaissance fair or frankly throwing on wierd paint and a rainbow wig and going to a NFL game. Whatever floats your boat lol.
How were the knife sales?

@bushy the outfit supposed to be a Chin Dynasty Prime minister outfit.
Int he old days prime ministers have lots of concubine, so I have my excuse to proposition some very very nicely displayed young ladies. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) there are no takers.
@Dallan
Business is more than good, it is great, I got many orders as well as draining my table stocks. Which is in a way bad, because I will be in the Sydney International Knife show in August and I have not enough time to make more. Then again, a dollar is a dollar.
