Spend a fantastic weekend at the Ironfest in Lithgow NSW
Every year I visit I wear some strange costume and this year mine is some sort of ancient soldier armor.
The theme of the fest this year is "Wild West" hence the mismatch Akubra hat
While in the fest, I sells knives with my friends the CreativeMan, but I do take some time to make me a "Dog head" or Cuttlers hammer with a 25 kg power hammer. Much easier then bashing it with hand hammer.
I also watch an awesome display of Katana quenching by my friend Jezz Foster - one of the very few katana sword maker in Australia.

Definitely very interesting to me to see how the steel bends due to its internal stresses when subjected to temperature differential.
