Pretty much all the new hunting rifles sold here come as standard with a threaded muzzle & thread protector.
The "fun" starts next month, when I apply for a .38 revolver for "humane despatch" for deer. I may or may not be required to have four out of six cylinder chambers plugged before purchase... Scratch

Mike , now if the 4-chambers aren't plugged , Would that make it one of the new fully semi-automatic firearms (new anti-firearm terms over here in the states) ? Scratch

The idea is to make us all "safer", only if I were to have a hankering to commit mass homicide, it's easier to get hold of a black market Glock or Sig than it is to clean out the cylinders on a "restricted" revolver.
Of course that particular form of lunacy only applies if one really does think public safety is the driver, rather than ever more oppressive social control...

Thanks for the tip, Deer Sniper. I picked some of these up today for a trial run. 20 mph gusting winds so I think I'll try them out on a calmer day.

No problem slim, I hope they shoot good for you!

Considering how light the back end of these pellets are, any wind at all will play havoc with the accuracy...

On head shot squirrels at 40 to 50 yards, these little pellets will penetration through the skull, and more often than not, the pellet is stopped by the hide on the opposite side...

I need to do some velocity testing with these 2 pellet types, and see what they are clocked at. I normally shoot at 12 feet from the muzzle. Do you have a better recommendation?

now that is plain and simply daylight robbery...... how the heck can they justify that Scratch Scratch your materials and machine costs cant be more than ours and should in all reality be cheaper.

They charge it because people are willing to pay it!!!

This is why I don't own one, because I will NOT pay that kind of stupid price for one!

On a single shot 300 Blackout, I have seen guys use the oil filter suppressors, and they work very well with sub-sonic loads, and are less than $75 for the better filters...

With the air gun, you likely can move the chrony to a foot or 2 from the muzzle. I've clocked rubber bands with mine.

The Gold Flights I got were undersized. They would fall out of the bore if I didn't keep the barrel level. Any upward angle and they would slide out as I closed the barrel on the breech. Are yours like that?

Accuracy wasn't that good but being undersized could be the issue.

Well, dang gone it slim! They are a snug fit in my barrel, but that may be why they shoot so good out it too...

What is the most accurate pellet out of your Gamo, and what model do you have??

I have a Gamo Whisper DXII. The Gamo Red Fire 7.8 grain pellets shoot the best. They have to be pressed into the chamber (so have all the other pellets I've tried).

It looks like Crosman doesn't make the Gold Flight anymore as it is not listed. I've read they stop making them. They have been replaced with the 5.4gr Penetrator.

I just bought 3 more tins of the Gold Flight, and they had over 20 more on the shelves. Maybe these are the last, I don't know...

Should we move the pellet rifle discussion to a new thread?

I’ve been considering getting one. Damn tree rats are everywhere. There isn’t a safe bird feeder anywhere and when they get on the roof they drive me crazy. Plus the feral cats are threatening the neighbors small chicks (admitting that it’s a temporary situation).

Yeah, probably so. I never intended to get so side tracked. My apologies!

No apologies needed my friend...

I’ll let you lead the discussion since I don’t know anything this subject...
