Doc says I can resume normal activities, but I still can't see too clearly. There is still a gas bubble in the left eye and my depth perception sucks. However, things are improving! I hope to be driving and back to work within a couple of weeks.

On a side note, both of my Brussels Griffons have developed eye trouble too! The 14 year old had infections in both eyes but is getting better. Unfortunately the 11 year old lost her right eye last week due to ulcers and infection. I'm assuming she suffered an injury because it happened fairly quickly. So, the Three Blind Mice are just hanging around the house for now. We can see well enough to eat and nap!

Nine weeks in and I still have a gas bubble in my left eye! It looks like a BB rolling around in there. The doctors said it would be absorbed in 5-6 weeks! I just started driving some (not fun but doable) and am going back to work Monday, the 18th. Next doctor visit in early Jan, when we can discuss fixing the problems the first surgery generated (and they told me that it would).

To some extent I can relate. I'm dealing with "floaters" in my left eye. They keep telling me that they will eventually settle to the bottom of the eye. Right!! I'm waiting.

blind dogs..huh....we have one of them too....his heart is still as big as a buffaloes but without vision life must really suck for the wee cocker.... didnt stop him hoovering up half a full grown cottontail for dinner last night.
good to hear you are on the mend bud.

Still, even though it is tough considering the alternative I would still prefer this temporary option.

I showed up for work Monday and they sent me home. The hospital/doctor never sent the "return to work" authorization. My regular doctor gave me one on Wednesday so I went back then. Still waiting on the hospital.

I may whine about the inconvenience but actually I'm really relieved that I kept my vision! And I appreciate the good wishes!

LOL! No guarantees! My eyes were pretty good when I shot the stick. At the moment I'm not sure I could see the deer. I think hunting will have to wait until next year. Now that I came back to work it appears I'll be working every weekend.

Glad to hear you're doing better, Pumkinslinger.

Kinda doing some recovery of my own. Finally found a doctor that listens and had that damned left forefinger amputated last Friday after 14 years of being nothing but in the way (thankfully not my shooting hand!). Got home the same day only to see coyotes in the field across the road. Left hand too bandaged up to use for support so had to give them a pass. Only mild discomfort easily handled by ibuprofen. Getting caught up on loading and organizing my gun room...just slower.
