Let's see now...Farrier came out to shoe one horse and trim the other. Have 2 inches of snow on the ground and a steep hill to climb to get to the barn. Now I just went up there with my Chevy 4X4 with no problem. The farrier, on the other hand, slid off the edge and down an imbankment. I had to drive up there and tow him out...Next time he'll buy American...Needless to say I didn't get the horses taken care of. Have to wait a couple of days so he can climb the hill. I did, however, get my CCW issued today. Lookout...I'm armed (as if I wasn't to begin with)...

NEXT...

As far as I was concerned, by The Constitution, I was legal all the time...It's the individual states that are confused.

Getting towards the tailend of our cold snap. The 25 below nights with the 30 MPH winds and minus 50 wind chills look to be over for awhile. Only 0-5 below last few nights. Love these warms spells.--tr

I hear ya...I picked a place in Missouri that indicated that the tornados either went east of me or west of me. It seems that the hilly part of the Ozarks is just too rough for them to set down....I hope. Been wrong before.

My sister & her hubby (from MINN.) are arriving in AZ on Friday. I know they are going to appreciate some nice warm days and nights.

Although, according to them and other family in MN, this winter has been pretty good so far, except for last week and this week of course.

Believe it or not in the next 3-5 years my wife and I plan to get out of the big city, out of AZ and up into cold country like MT, WY, ID, SD, MN, and find us an old farm or ranch and retire there.

We've been in a major "cold snap" for a month now. Luckily it seems to be warming up a bit.

Weather hasn't been too bad here....we been averaging 30C - 33C (86F - 91F) for the past couple of months. A hot day can get to around 43C - 45C (110F - 113F). Thanks God for the beach. Very Happy Looking forward to Winter and a bit of cold weather....probably average about 18C (64F).

The downside to our Summer is the drought we are suffering. Our water supply is below 25% and not looking good right now, althou the parts of our state that are in the tropics are having cyclones and flooding.

Global warming....El Nino....whichever, but it ain't doin' us an favours.

Cheers, Vince

I moved to where I am in 1971 from NH, after the winter/blizzard of 69. So yeh, I know about 100 inches of snow in a single fall and -30 F, it sucks. As far as I am concerned, owning a snow shovel is not in the cards, ever again.

Sunday it was 41 F when I left the house at 6:30 AM, when I left the bird field at 5:30 PM it was 57 F. I love it. This time of the year it gets down into the high 30s and around noon it is 60 or so. I am in north Florida, rolling hills, hardwoods, about 45 miles from Alabama.
