I visited a site once and was able to find the date of manufacture of my Winchester guns. I can't find that site anymore. Sad I went to Winchester site and can't find it there. Does anyone have any info on such a website?

As it turns out, both of the above sites are the ones I was looking for, but my rifle serial number is too new to be listed. Thanks Gil and jeh.

Here are a bunch. Add if you hav any more. Very Happy
One question I see asked on a lot of firearms forums is "Can anyone tell me when my gun was made by the serial number?" Most of the time this question is answered by a link to a web page that has that data. Of course finding these web pages is sometimes kinda difficult. So in order to help solve that problem I figured it would be nice to have one spot with links to as many web pages as possible with that info. So here is what I have so far. If you know of anymore please add to this list.
Manufacturers web sites:

Browning firearms
www.browning.com/servi.../index.asp

Ruger Firearms
www.ruger.com/Firearms...story.html

Private web sites with this info possibly not correct.
Colt Firearms
proofhouse.com/colt/index.html

Marlin Firearms
oldguns.net/sn_php/marlinlookup.php

Remington Firearms
oldguns.net/sn_php/remdates.php

United States military firearms
oldguns.net/sn_php/milmods.htm

Winchester Firearms
oldguns.net/sn_php/winmods.htm

Here's Remington's
www.remington.com/libr...rm_models/ but it may not give the exact production dates.

This guy has a pretty comprehensive listing of gun manufacturer web sites:
www.webcom.com/gun_guy/page4.htm

If you own a West Hurley Semi-Auto Thompson, you can find its year of manufacture here:
www.nfatoys.com/tsmg/t...efault.htm

For Marlin lever guns:
www.marlinowners.com/b....php?t=495

Please help add to this list if you can.
James
