Have about 600 rounds shot Bushy.
No malfunctions at all.
I have 4 different loads worked up for it, and I have been shooting at 20yds.
Two of my loads have been giving me 1 1/2"-2"groups, and two other loads have given me 1"-1 1/2" groups.
It is one heck of a gun.
The only thing that I am changing is the plastic grips.
I ordered some Chip McCormick Rosewood Checkered grips from Midway yesterday.
When I find the cord for the digital camera that is lost, I'll try to figure out how to post some picks.
If you want my recipe for my loads, let me know Bushy and I will gladly post them for you.
They all are loaded with W-231 powder.

I have very good results with 185 grain Remington JHP over a WLP primer under 5.7 to 6.0 grains of W-231. 5.7 grains being my favorite...Being discharged from a Colt 1911 Series 80 slightly modified. Trigger job, Match barrel and bushing, full length guide rod, extended slide release, Novak front and rear sights (fixed) and magazine release extention.

My 185gr loads are Rainier 185gr Coated Flat Points, WLP primer, 6.3gr-W231 Powder.
I also load these with 5.8gr. which will be my indoor Bullseye load next winter. The 5.8 was great, but I had a couple of magazines loaded with 6.3gr of W-231. I couldn't believe it, but they gave me an even tighter group.
The 6.3 is well under Max., but it is the first time that a relatively hotter load gave me better accuracy than the nice medium one.
I am going to the range shortly, and will give these two loads a try again Bushy, and let you know if I had my head you know where yesterday.
A lot of the guys at the gun shop tell me that I should go with the all lead 185gr bullets for bullseye shooting, but with as good of a group as I am getting with the plated bullets, I will stick with these and not foul up my barrel with lead. Recoil doesn't hurt my timed shooting.
Eric
Here is a big 1/2hr late PS that I just thought about Bushy.
I read on the Rainier website to load these coated bullets to the cast bullet data.
Boy was that wrong.
I started with 5 loaded at 4.5 gr, then 4.9gr. My face got doused with unburnt powder until I hit the 5.4gr loads.
So much for listening to those french idiots anymore, although they do make a fine bullet. Must have some German engineers in france living there from WWII.

Can Bushy catch Dimitri? Can vint2 get two paws before May 1? Anyone taking bets? Do we need a six paw recognition?

Hey Handloader,
I only need one more post after this to get my 100th.
That will get Vint off of his duff.

OK guys, I have the load worked up that I will use in Bullseye next winter.
200gr LSWC--4.0gr of Clays Powder--WLP primers-COL--1.260"
Three of us took turns shooting a magazine each at 20yds.
My 8 shots grouped in the 10 ring at 3/4"
The next shooter shot his 8 shots in my 3/4" holes, and the third guy did the same thing.
Unbelievable!!
I'm not kidding or exaggerating.
Like my one buddy said. This PT 1911 is dialed in.
Both of my buddies have many years experience of shooting 1911s, and they both said that the Taurus will shoot along side the most expensive Kimbers and Colts that they have seen and owned.
