Anyone shooting 125 BT's in there 30-06's? Curious how they work on deer and what they will do to coyotes? Is there a better bullet choice for this? Ranges will be under 300 yards.

Howdy. Personaly I think the 125gr B-T is a little light for deer out of the 06, a average velocity somewhere around 3100-3200fps thats a pretty fair clip for a thin jacketed bullet. I would use a 150 or 165gr bullet for deer. The 125gr B-T should do fine on coyote but I imagine you will get some pelt damage.

I've been using the 125gr BTBT for 20 years in my .300 Win Mag. for shooting ground hogs. On top of 80 gr of IMR 4350. My chrony said that 15' from the muzzle Im getting 3710fps. I''m shooting ground hogs at 700 yds +. The 7-.08 normally uses a 120 gr. The same for the 243. I think out of a '06 they will kill it without the recoil. But I still use the 165gr BTBT for Deer.

I have used 125 gr Nosler bt on deer out of my 300 WSM, haven't lost one yet but shot placement is probably the most important. Hey doesn't barnes have a 125 gr Triple shok??

You would likely get less pelt damage using 150 gr bullets in your "06 then you would with 125 gr bullets because the 150's have a heavier jacket and wouldn't expand as much on a yote.
