The first time my wife tried to get me a "guy" present...a holster, it was...the store clerk gave her such a bad time, she didn't try again for years.

I called the store, and tore a strip off the manager for his clerk's rudeness.

Generally, she has given me binoculars, flashlights, 2 rifles, and 2 hunting knives, but now, both of us are satisfied with gift certificates from Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse.

My daughters and sons in law have given me a fishing rod case, binocular harness, spotting scope, fishing reel, gift certificates, and other fancy stuff. Smile Not to mention the shirts!

Mate...you are a little more conservative than me. I would have gone in there and ripped the Clerk a new butt hole then started on the Manager.

I hate it when Counter Clerks, in what is generally a mens' environment, treat women with disdain..."Oh, a woman...what would she know; I'll sell her anything, she wouldn't know the difference anyway." Mad

The two Gun Stores I patronise are great. My daughter went in to buy me a scope for my birthday a couple of years back and they did the right thing by her totally...I could be happier with the treatment she received.

Cheers, Vince

I buy my own hunting supplies, My wife gets me stuff like gun cases, hunting clothes, boots, etc. But as far as guns, bows, ammo, I'd rather get them myself. The same goes for her, she picks out the jewelry, clothes, etc. she wants. Saves a wait in the return line. After 30 years with her, we've learned that this works for us.

My Wifes family(uncles, grandfather) are Lapeer County Michigan Sherriffs Deputys, She knows guns and the other stuff that goes with them. She could teach most counter clerks in a gunshop a thing or two.

I make a list or go with my wife. She goes with me and we get what we want and it gets wrapped and put under the tree. Works for us real well. Smile

I buy myself a Christmas present every year, usually firearm related, however this year I bought a new snowmobile. Or as they are called in these parts, a "snogo".

Don't worry Mr.D, When you go into a high end siute shop, ain't no women taylors that I've seen in there. Some of the best clothes designers are men. On a brighter note, I got a 8 gig mp3 layer from my daughter. Got lots of different jerkys delivered from my daughters best friend.. This jerky came from south korea. can't wait to dig in. tanya also got me a meat slicer. lots of model cars from the movie Cars.:-D Very Happy

I got myself a Ruger Single Six Stainless, and my family got me a pair of 10X binoculars.
Beautiful glass! Tack sharp optics. Only problem is, they give me a bad headache when I use them, and I have trouble holding them steady.
Oh, well, that will be corrected soon. Very Happy
