I just found out what the Retard-----I mean Ben------ did.
My neighbor sent me an email like that a couple of months ago, and it really pissed me off.

OK..........I will assume Vince was a little serious (might be a stretch Smile

) in his question and try my hardest to see a bow in those photos. concentrate.............concentrate.....................concentrate............HHHMMMM, Looks like a typical single cam (top wheel is just an idler) compound bow. It is outfitted with a drop-away arrow rest (note the cord running from rest to cable). Also equipped with a stabilizer and a wrist strap (to keep the bow from falling after the shot when using a relaxed bow hand grip). She is using a mechanical release which is the strap that is visible around her right hand. The black object in her back pocket is a bipod which attaches to the lower limb of the bow when not in use which in conjunction with the stabilizer holds the bow off the ground when not in use between stations in a 3D course. It appears that the arrows are carbon judging by their diameter and color. It also.........wait a minute............where did the bow go? Sorry, I cant see it anymore.....maybe in a few days I will be able to muster enough concentration to make a few more observations.

Everybody keeps talking about a bow... oh wait, I see it. There's actualy 2 bows that I see and they're both blue... I think... kind of HARD to say...got something in my eyes...

Awesome, thanks Roklok...so, these are all the "bells and whistles" that one hears about when mention is made of bow hunting. I'm a little confused with the tripod though....a tripod for a bow ??

Okay, now that the bow is covered and I have learned something, should we take a look at the stance, shooting position and hold of the hunter? Very Happy

I feel sure that there are many observations to be made there...as many as one would/could find with rifle shooting.

I really appreciate the time and effort everyone has put into trying to identify the bow and its components given that its is in a camo pattern and as such is very difficult to define from the background ...especially the long grass as Bushy pointed out. Oh well, I'll just keep looking to see if I can identify any other odditities in there. Very Happy

The "bipod" is simply to hold the bow when not in use, to prevent having to lay it on the ground. The "weird" shape of the bow is a reflex riser design(grip positioned behind limb bolts) which gives the string a longer power stroke which increases velocity, all else being equal.

It looks like she has very good form in her shooting stance, and that is a good thing. I have had binoculars, calls, and rangefinders hanging on my chest get caught in the string when shooting from strange positions, especially out of treestands. She has some rather large "items" that would not be good to get caught in a bowsting.

Her bow is also equipped with a peep sight and a string silencer on the string.

Seriously after some thought, I reckon it is bad for the girl not to wear a forearm protector.. the bow string may rip her forearm badly.. Confused

But then again, we are talking about bows ain't we?? Very Happy
