Bit of back ground when i first posted on Huntingnut i started a small caliber war its was interesting to see so many posts.
Well the cops where making alot of fuss about me getting 30 06 and making things a bit harder than they needed to be anyway went in today asked how things where progressing they told me they where not at the moment and could take another couple of weeks wtf well i wasnt a happy camper to say the least Mad so said well if its taking this long you might as well throw a 30/30 in there as well Laughing oops the girl behind the counter went into coniptions and started waving her arms around and telling me off for not doing it in the first place :).
I told her if it takes this long for one gun it should take half as long for two Laughing Needless to say we did a bit more paper work and i scarpered out of there laughing my arse off.
We shall see how long it takes!!!! Laughing .

Yeah Vince i know i shouldn't have pushed her buttons but it was funning and if gets out of hand i can go over the hill and see the regional office

Mate...you won't get any arguments from me. Was she a uniform member or a public servant? If she is the latter, then she is most likely peeved because you made her do some work. Very Happy Laughing Come to think of it...she could be either and peeved about the extra work. Laughing

Cheers, Vince

Duce and C221,

This is exactly what the socialist democrats want for this country. All I can say is that we need to be prepared. Buy now, buy plenty, buy extra, and be ready!

Hy guys, I am back from Argentina.

Phil, just be very careful about the length and size of the chain you start pulling. The exporter I bought six Martini Cadet rifles from got himself hammered by the Aussie Gestopo, ended up in jail and having his inventory seized, about 3 million US worth. He had an inert rifle grenade displayed in his show room, in a glass case. The the heads of the political opposition party got arrested, tried and convicted before they could prove the Aussie Gestopo framed them..... Oh, so sorry, we made a mistake, just be glad we did not shoot you.... now that you are broke, lost your job, lost your home, etc, etc. Without a US style constitution to protect you, you are at the mercy of the rules and rule makers.
Best,
Ed

She was a public servant and it was nearly her morning tea. I have never seen such a lazy bunch as a public servant, i am sure that they dont know what that tittle means. We pay there wages for crying out loud
Don't get me wrong i am sure there some good one's out there it's just that in nearly fifty years i have not found one. Very Happy

I support licensing of firearm owners, I do not support our registry or firearm classifications but I fallow it anyways cause I am not a "criminal".

As long as your firearms license is valid it means you have a clear criminal history, and at least know some basic firearm safety, so buying a firearm here its a 1 minute transfer of the firearm into your name for the store (done on the phone) while you get to fondle it. But really should take 15 seconds to type in the license number and get a "Valid" or "Not Valid" response only in my opinion.

Dimitri.

If only it was that easy Crying or Very sad

Gun laws here just get worse.

Pastoralist loses gun licence fight

Pastoralist John Anick yesterday lost his legal fight with WA Police in the State Administrative Tribunal to reclaim his handgun licence that was revoked by police under legislation that no longer allowed pastoralists to possess the firearms.

Mr Anick, a station owner in the Pilbara, was the first of a group of pastoralists being represented by lawyer Ross Williamson fighting the handgun confiscation that was implemented by police in the past 18 months.

Mr Williamson said his clients had a right to possess handguns because they dealt with wild and aggressive cattle. Many of his clients had stories of being attacked.

In dismissing Mr Anick’s application, Justice Michael Barker said evidence given on behalf of the Commissioner of Police “suggests that long arms are, generally speaking, a better option for dealing with the destruction of stock or vermin . . . because of their efficiency, safety and general reliability”. He said the “destruction of stock or vermin” also included instances where a wild bull might charge a station worker.

Mr Williamson said he was disappointed with the decision and was keen to appeal against it to the Supreme Court. “It is always difficult within the four corners of a room in an office block on St Georges Terrace to explain to city people the circumstances and realities of everyday life in the remote parts of this State,” he said.

If you have to have a license it isn't a RIGHT. We have a RIGHT to be armed for our defense.

You have a right to get yourself from point A to point B in the US as well freely but you still need a drivers license to drive a car.

Doesn't the US ban felons from owning firearms through the use of background checks at time of purchase ?? Confused

I see no real difference except you get a card saying your legal to own (kind of like many states that skip the background check with a valid CCW license) them and you have to pass a simple safety test so you don't shoot yourself with is also a requirement to your CCW permits in many states.

Most states have already what I consider the most firearms laws that should be premit, quick and easy identification of people who are not barred from owning firearms from previous criminal history. Which in turn eliminates the need for background checks and the extra paperwork gun stores need to fill out and send to the BATF everytime they sell a gun.
