Chambered, I was thinking "Dern! He's GOOD! How does he tell the brand like that?" Then I looked at the pics again and saw the logo...

I had given up on the idea of getting one (seems like something else is always more important) until I found this one in the used gun rack at a local shop. I didn't know when I posted the link to Bushmaster's website that the Dissipator had been discontinued, but when I found this one and actually put it up to my shoulder, I had to get it. I don't think it had more than 200 rounds through it when I got it, and so far I've put only 50 through it myself. It still had the cleaning kit in the buttstock, but the kit had never been used. Now I gotta get a Harris bipod to mount to it...

Buy the Rock River! Mine is a A4 elite. It came with carry handle but I removed it for now.

let me see if i read this right. .223 and 5.56 nato are not the same??? I have a .223 zastava and have used military rounds with no problems also norinco rounds no problems. they are hotter than my reloads but shoot to similar impact. I was givin some mt cases had milatary origins and use them to reload with again no problems. some of these have loose primer pockets so I guess they were pritty hot.the ball rounds were used to shoot wallabies cause they were cheap.

The 5.56mm NATO is loaded with a thicker case and to higher pressures then the commercial 223Rem. As such it has a longer leade to compensate giving the pressure only when needed to seal the chamber then the pressure drops.
This can cause pressure spikes in a 223Rem firearm that may lead to a failer of the firearm.
However from how I understand it the 5.56mm NATO is still in the "safe" range for the 223Rem in MODERN firearms and that many more firearms marked 223Rem are actually built on 5.56mm NATO chambers anyways. Your mileage may vary however.
If your really worried about it get your gunsmith to open up the leade of the chamber a bit with a modified 223Rem/5.56mm NATO chamber reamer like many ARs use.

thanks Dimitri that clears it up a bit I guess leade is another term for throat eg the part just in front of chamber before rifling starts?
