As long as I keep the number of chickens the same and the colors similar, she'll never know.

Hey...... I'm not into that bareback sh*t!! Behave you guys!! I'm going to tell the friar!
The storm is supposed to be making a turn to the north, as soon as it hits the coast. This will take the brunt of it north and east of me. In my area, they are predicting 40, maybe 60 mph winds and 2 to 6 inches of rain, with the biggest part coming from the front that is colliding with the storm.
My place is 100 miles inland. That is still close enough to get 100 mph winds and 20+ inches of rain (It's happened a few times in my lifetime), but not this time. If I can get some rain out if it, I will be happy. I planted clover and alfalfa, planning on this rain. If it don't, I'll have to start up my irrigation motors.
On a positive note, the night time temperatures are going to be in the 60s and the day time temperatures down into the mid 80s!!! This will be a welcomed change from our normal of 80 degree mornings and 100 degree days.
Thanks to all for thinking about us down here.
Cary

I can't wait for cooler weather.
The crop is for winter grazing, not for hay. Our winters are so mild down here that we grow our oats, wheat, ryegrass, clovers, alfalfa, and a variety of vegetables (carrots, lettuce, cabbage, beets, etc.) during our winter months. I over-seed coastal Bermuda (grazing) fields with ryegrass, clover, alfalfa, and/or turnips. I just spread the seed over the tops of the grass fields; then with 2 or 3 rainy days, the seed will sprout and come up. This allows me to have 2 to 3 months of extra grazing and it cuts my feed (hay) costs.

Somehow you ruined the Texas Cowboy with those chickens . I mean , would John Wayne even look twice at a chicken ?

Cary...It would be real nice if you would absorb all the rain so I could continue breaking in my new toy...Momma (Wife) bought it for me...I've gotten 300 rounds through it and need to get 200 more before I can start carrying it...
So...If you would be so kind as to shake those clouds and wring them out over Texas I sure would appreciate it...
