Reading this forum makes me think that there's a lot of starvation in this country! This make me want to donate some squirrels to feed the evacuees from the Houston area.

Oh, that reminds me: They (evacuees) are already crying to the news media about wanting more handouts and are expressing their discontent with Bush and the FEMA bunch for not passing out all those free credit cards. They act like that hurricane caught them by surprise after a week of warnings by the weather bureau. Call me cold blooded, but my opinion is "Tough sh*t." Take some responsibilities for your actions. Mad

Cary

Now I have lost my appetite...Flamin' liberals. What do you expect from city dwellers. Most are liberals to begin with and liberals expect the government to do it all. In my [not so] humble opinion, if you live in a danger zone then you take the risks that come with that area. You don't like the risks or can't take care of yourself while in that zone. Get out, but don't expect me or other tax payers to foot the bill... Mad

Storms can be quite devestating and can disrupt everyone's life. But I didn't make them live there. For economic or other (herd instinct) reasons they decided to live in the path of hurricanes. Not me. Mad

I'm just wondering... I haven't seen any stories about wide spread looting as occurred in N.O. after Katrina. I'll admit I haven't been watching much news but what happened with that?

You are right, but they are starting to whine (complain) that the Bush administration isn't doing their job fast enough...

I think the one's doing the whining is the transplanted people from N.O. They're still over here by the thousands. They won't go home!! Mad

Cary...I don't think that anybody wants you to put any squirrels on the bbq mate. Maybe trap a couple of o'possums, skin 'em and stick them on. They are edible aren't they.

Neither Liberals or Conservatives look even remotely palatable enough to put on the barby.

Cheers, Vince

Vince,

Yes, they are edible. But, after skinning a few hundred of them when I was trapping as a young man, I can truthfully say that, by comparison, squirrel looks pretty good. I once donated 10 raccoons to the Lyons Club annual wild game dinner (after I removed the fur), to get free tickets. While I was skinning them, I told myself that, under no circumstances, would I eat any raccoon, I didn't care how they fixed it. Their smell was horrible, unlike any other game animals. When I came upon the dish of BBQ raccoon at the wild game dinner, it looked pretty good, so I though, what the heck, and I took a piece. Before I advanced a couple of steps further down the line, I took a bite. Surprisingly, it was really good. I backed up and got two more pieces. You never know. I do know that a skinned possum, looks like a giant rat. But, heck, even they are edible in certain areas of the world.

My brother and I were running a trap line, back in the 60s, and came upon a dead cow. We heard a scratching noise coming from within the cow. My brother walked up and kicked the cow in the side and about 10 possums ran out of her butt. Yea...........give me some of that squirrel.

Cary
