Do you remember the 1980's TV show ALF? I think this yote may be a relative from Planet Melmac where cat is the meal of choice.

I have been gettng little or no response from rabbit distress, rodent distress, bird distress invitation howls... anything!!

I pulled out my old phantom caller to change the sounds up a bit and went with feline distress... The results? 4 stands three yotes called in! I only got a picture of this one who came out of the timber at the Bowl about 400 yards away and then trotted up to about 140 where I had to anchor him before he got into my wind cone.

I am going to ride this one til they quit coming to it too. Luckily, no educated coytes yet.

That would make sense in more urban areas where I'm sure the 'yotes are used to feeding on house pets. I know that that is becoming a problem in this general area.

This one was taken about a mile and a half from the road. Not a real urban area bit they have been called a lot.

I see them walking down the street in the City of Chester between 1:00 and 4:00 AM, and I've seen plenty of spoor and tracks out at the cabin. Confused

But, I'll be damned if I can get a shot at them, I'll try feline distress. Can't do any worse than I am now. Sad

Can you play your own .MP3 or .Wav files on that call?

Check out this site for some free downloads of distress calls.

Looks like a HUGE camera memory card/stick to me. I got it second hand and its beat up something awful.
I called my buddy I got it from, Its a Prey master. Just a plain ol prey master. It only appears to have a slot for their cards.

Yep, the old 'Housecat in Distress' is a good sound for coyotes--in fact I shot a coyote one time that had a bumper sticker that said, 'Cat--the other white meat!' Very Happy
